Well went for a test run today. Going to turn the mats the right way up. As you guys mentioned it will look more real. I find with the snow fence I am using it is very stiff with our cold temps hard to unroll. It is rolled up for storage and transport and is difficult to get to hang down as it wants to stay curved form being rolled. Going to have to get something for the top as I am too visible from the sky. Mabe some netting or replace the...

Ideas? Evinrude Problem
Published (2009-11-22 14:56:00)
There is a drain plug on the bowl of each carb. Change your element in your fuel/water separator. Prime the fuel lines with fresh, water free fuel. Open the drains on all carbs, begin pumping fresh clean fuel into the carbs. When you get fresh gas from each drain, the water is gone from the carbs. Re-tighten the drain screws. That should clear the carbs of water. It may take a few minutes of running the engine to completely clear all of the...

25hp Evinrude 1992

Second vote for the battery. When mine is low, my starter won't spin fast enough to throw the gear up to engage the flywheel. If your battery is fine, remove the gear on top of the starter and look at the splines inside of it. They can be dirty or worn so that they have a spot that makes it difficult to slide across. I used to have that problem until I cleaned it and sprayed it with lube (temporary) and then eventually replaced the gear....

Maybe you could just attach some natural cut grass etc to the top of your blind to break up the manufactured line cut. Just a thought. Good Luck. __________________ Wipe your mouth, there's still a tiny bit of Bullsh!t around your lips.

What to Look for in a Kicker Motor
Published (2009-11-25 11:37:00)
Most folks around here use a 9.9hp. So the 18 should be plenty. Most kickers are for trolling. So being able to control your speed is the key factor. I am speaking of fishing though! __________________ Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. you can control the depth of most trolling motors with a built in clamp that is attached at the shaft, the depth you can run in will be determined by the draft of the boat and adding a few inches to have clean water for the prop to run in. dont know much about your boat having never been in one but you may want to put the battery in the bow which will make it run more level or consider a push ...

Fiberglass boat question?
Hey y'all. I've got an 84 hydrosport bass boat, that ain't in the world's best condition. I'm thinking about going camo on it, partially to duck hunt, but more as a statement during fishing season. I was thinking about hitting the fiberglass lightly with something like 100 grit, then hittin if with the ...

Nice looking work on the frame! In regards to your question I would apply some canvas or cordura type material for wind break and the apply a fence in order to affix some cane, limbs, grass, etc. (whatever matches your surroundings). Also I would fabricate a small frame that would allow for a cover overhead in case of rain or snow. Add some heaters and a grill and go hunting. Hope this helps....

I have decided to forget the idea of the dog ladder and have scrapped the project. I was able to take the boat out three times this weekend and work the dog from it. I think for now i will have her in the front and use my layout seat and face towards the back. Performance in the water was great. My last boat was a 1432 jon and it was very tippy. The canvasback is very stable even getting up and ...

I'm the same size as you. They dont' paddle all that well. I wanted a boat that could be open water layout and backwater shallow water layout.
They do a decent job at doing those two differant jobs with one boat. I have cracked the top of the gunnel by simply pressing down on it as I pulled my legs up and out. It is pretty thin materiel.
I bought the flip tops and the adjustable ...

We built one at work the other night, me and some co-workers. Full size out of cardboard, it went together in a snap. 45 minutes from start to finish, we put it together with duct tape and it looked sweet. I wish I would have taken some pictures of it before we crushed it. I am starting mine this coming weekend as well. The thing that surprised me was the simplicity and the strength, even out of...

From my personal experience, I like the grass right-side up for two reasons. One, it looks better to me than upside down and two, I think it looks good when gravity pulls it down a little bit. To me it looks more lifelike and I think it will blend in better with natural color. To each his own though. Heck, either side would prolly work depending on where you hunt but I didn't want ...

Ideas? Evinrude Problem
I have an 89 evinrude 110hp. While hunting this last week it ran great till yesterday when I slowed down out of high throttle. The motor would then only run real rough and it would not run at a high throttle.
I get it back to shore and thought I had knocked a spark plug wire loose, so I check them ...
