you are trying to dupe the public into thinking that regular size 20lb paper is similar to 80lb paper. business cards are 80lb paper and they function quite well. what do staples have to offer?

As a business owner, I've long felt that unions are a sham and a disgrace. They are the primary reason COG rises disproportionately. They are the reason companies lay off, don't hire more, etc. Pretending and masquerading that they're acting in the best interest of the employees is a complete farce. Well, Wal-mart (of all places) set an example all businesses should follow. 190 employees at a Quebec Wal-mart decided they were...

Hiring tips

No the tasks were very specified very clearly. In the last case, the task was to fix an application that was crashing on exit. Turned out the guy was completely clueless as to how to even approach the problem . I admit I did not give any directions as to how to handle it, but I'm not looking forward to a lot of hand-holding, rather for someone who can work independently.

It depends on how articulate you are? If you have a good sense of what kind of policy and charges you want to follow, and presentable grammar & writing, you can do it yourself using templates that are widely available, on the Internet, bookstore or business support organizations. I've written policy documents on a number of occasions, usually in collaboration with other members of groups. Some have been vetted by lawyers and some...

I was told by my accountant what you can't claim to be a self-prop and work for your own corp -- at least not in the same line of business.
You can still expense some of your home -- just have your corp rent some space from you, storage or office.
Talk to an accountant.

Just a thought, but when it comes to this assignment you are giving them, could it be an issue of you not giving them enough direction? Maybe some of them would be more successful if you set out what you want in a clear manor.

Seeing samples and then having them send the merchandise over is a bad idea. I know people who have gotten burned on it because the quality of the product is significantly lower than the samples they send. It is important to have someone inspect the merchandise otherwise you may have no recourse.

The banks business departments used to have free business planning software. Probably not as glitzy but perhaps as functional. That was quite a few years ago as I remember seeing it on a 1.44 diskette!! It was Royal Bank IIRC

Do you have a Minuteman Press down there? They do our cards and they always do an amazing job... plus they deliver them to my office when they're done and leave the invoice with my assistant. You can't ask for better, especially for the price.
I have a graphics design company make the designs, then send them over to Minuteman for printing. Definitely a good company to do business with.

good luck trying to buy one in the GTA.
I believe there's a looooooooooooooong waiting list, if not already been pre-allocated for many years to come.
My suggestion, try another franchise. Starbucks Maybe?

I think this is a great thread and I will keep my eye on it for more info. And I really respect the fact you didn't put affiliate links in it.
Should one have a site (actual, or blogspot type) before signing up to be an affiliate?

Make your best possible estimate, multiply by 3 and use it as your quote. Web-design projects are relatively speaking small, and so flat fee model is preferred. If you realize you project is taking more time than you planned, too bad. Consider that a part of gaining experience. Next time your estimate will be more accurate. That's what I did, although I'm not in web-design. Eventually you'll earn...

Why do they hate vista print? A quick look around at the competition shows Vista print undercutting people by something like 50%. (Until you figure out the pricing)
Besides that... what's the catch? I mean they can't just be losing money can they?
I think their pricing is funny...

You don't need the lowest price unless you have like thousands of .CA domains. Most places charge about $10 - $20 a YEAR, and the difference won't buy you even a cup of small cofee a month.
