Making my own teas

So I've recently been inspired by all the awesome teas at Teaopia to try to make my own tea blends. I've found a few recipes, but a lot of them use ingredients that I've never heard of (like vanilla powder, or random herbs that I'd have no idea where to find them) So I'm wondering if anyone's ever tried making their own tea blends & would have some advice?

I don't really make teas in large quantities, but since I grow a number of herbs, I do dry some specially to use by themselves or with tea. I usually have dried mint (mine is apple mint), lemon thyme, lemon verbena around specially to add to teas. You can check the kitchen dictionary for more information about herbs. If you have a bulk food store anywhere near you, it's a great place to look for herbs - you can buy as little as you...
