And my only issue, in case it is not clear are the people who run up to you and either scream (rare but it has happened) from thirty feet away "Hey ... there is no photography here" or some derivate of that or come up to you (this happens more often) and tell you that you need to leave because this is a school. For the 85% who come up to me and ask me what I'm doing - those are not the issue here. Perhaps it is a matter...

well I'm hoping a G set would cover my 28mm range which would require an external VF on my R3A

Another vote for a second M-mount. Taking pictures is more fun than choosing which camera to use, or being constrained by which lenses you have in the obsolete autofocus format which misses focus when you least expect it. Cheers, R.

as stated, the me and film thread is not about bashing digital, it is an attempt to understand and explain why "I" find film more satisfying. but you knew that.

While on the subject of the insanity of modern life, this sign confronts me whenever I get on a bus in my home city. Its been added since the advent of security scares over terrorism and is strategically located above a storage area in the bus designed specifically for the placement of unattended baggage while people take a seat. Speaks volumes for the bureaucratic mind. EDIT: Afterthought....perhaps the sign would work better if it read...

I like Digital for Monochrome Infrared because the Silicon CCD goes deeper into the IR than does film.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the US First Amendment for free speech in the Bill of Rights. NYC's Mayor Bloomberg didn't exactly attempt a ban, but attempted to extract a fee from street photographers. He failed because of the 1st Amendment; there in increasing evidence that the Bill of Rights is really built from Native law. For me it is almost always a very iterative process where I find something interesting that seems to unfold into more photos that eventually develop a cohesive theme. There are frequent changes in direction in the early phases. And there are projects that lead into other projects. I photographed on and off while on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk for several years. Then I photographed there ...

You get several dozen (or hundred) photographers out on the street taking photographs. When confronted by the police they say "OK, arrest me!" INSIST on being arrested. Photograph the cops making the arrests while you're at it. Some of you could record the arrests from a distance with long lenses. Here in the U.S. you'd be entitled to a court appointed attorney. Request one. Overwhelm the system.

disclaimer: i am a photo hobbyist looking for an enjoyable creative passtime. I am not a professional working to meet deadlines. when using film, the time between taking the shot and seeing the developed negs and then the enlarged prints, is much longer than with digital where one can immediately see the image on the camera's lcd screen. this longer span of time with film creates a certain...

Photos of someone smoking or injecting something that is presumed to be an illegal substance does not mean that law enforcement can prove that said substances were consumed. A man shot smoking a joint can say it was tobacco. Someone photographed injecting themselves can say it was insulin. There's no way to prove them wrong.
