Copy and paste the link to the FSM's and down load a copy of your year, all of the information is in there. As far as wiring them open you just depress the actuators by hand and wire them in that position.

i'm dealing with the same issue with noise in the differential. upon further investigation and tear down, it turned out that the pinion bearings were at fault. the bearings themselves were ok however the races were pitted and grooved. speedturn mentioned above about the collar holding the axle in place. this is not completely correct. the collar's job is to keep the bearing in place should it ever wiggle loose..which most likely will...

okay DOC YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! took the afm off the car and inside is this nasty black tar looking stuff... cleaned it all out and made it so the door could swing freely, then put it all back together. Car started right up. was idling at only about 600 though. it also solved the fuel pump issue. the door was wedged open from the tar so the pump was always running. going back down to checkers later to have em replace the battery as this one is...

It had a 900CFM carb? Thats freekin huge. are you sure you have a stock ported engine? I'd also look for vacume leaks. I had this same problem but it was my accelerater pump was busted.

If you're running stock porting, I think the best carb is a Sterling Nikki.

A 55 pump jet might help you out.
Although I really wouldnt recomend running the stock fuel pump.
Aside from that your main circuit might be a bit lean, but it shouldnt bog right out and die.

You 5th and 6th port actuators may be stuck closed.
When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?
There is a small cone shaped screen at the fuel pump that could be clogged also.
What condition are your spark plugs/ rotor / cap / wires?

If you have swapped out the actuator to no avail, AND ensured vacuums are fine, MY 1st thing would be to clean the contacts at the switch for they build up crud over the years.

The vacuum line goes to the vacuum switch that's tucked away in the corner between the windshield washer reservoir and firewall.
The round chamber doesn't have a check valve or anything, I believe it's there to just dampen the pulsation. Could probably do without it.

Sounds like you need a little thicker oil after warmup... or else maybe you are leaking some? Did you check levels before the swap?

5w-20 didn't seem to help with mine, so maybe try the thicker stuff and report back.
Same issue, -SE with 200k miles on it, and worn oil-control seals around mostly the rear rotor. I actually had a hand in wearing them down, as I thought some MMO would help free up the carbon inside the engine, which it did. Unfortunately, it ate up ALL the carbon, including the carbon that was helping to...

First off, what year and trim is your car and does it have drums or discs. Second why would you think wheel bearing if the transmission is vibrating?

No one has any ideas? I did verify the accelerator pump is working (shoots 2 streams of fuel down the primaries).
You think placing a gas soaked rag over the carb and cranking the motor will help get more fuel in there? I think that if I do that and it starts, I'll know for sure there is a fuel delivery issue.
At this point, I can't tell if there is too much or too little fuel. ...

From what I understand, ethanol is very corrosive and you would need to upgrade most of your fuel system. Pretty sure the motor would run on it fine though.

It also depends a lot on the rest of the system (intake and exhaust). Runner size, length, exhaust diameter, type and location of collector, megaphone/no megaphone, etc. all play an important role in locating where the peak power occurs and how tall/wide the peak is.
In short, I would say no to your question. You can piece something together based on what people have done on the dyno, but in...
