Hmm tried that already for putting them in with no luck (you mean the axles right, not reinstalling the clips in the diff?) I think I'm gonna be forced to just bring the whole assembly to a shop even though I really don't want to. Really shouldn't be this hard just putting some axles back in.

RWD Conversion, Front diff removal?

well you cant block it off becaus while the bearings turn gear oil will flow through them till the level of fluid is congruent between the whole tranny, i cant put the diff back in because i tig welded the pucks of aluminum in to seal up the axles holes, and the input shaft seal no longer plays much of a role in sealing because it will no longer have gear oil being thrown at it, although i do see an issue with it letting by moisture if it...

as i'm doing research on ways to reduce play in the rear end it got to wondering WHY subaru chose to mount its rear diffs the way they did you have two sections, the front Y shaped frame, and then the rear subframe which doubles up as a suspension pickup point. so the Y section from looking at the diagrams holds up the brunt of the weight and prevents the side to side and back to back movement of the diff, while the rear subframe simply...

the only thing worth buying ebay versions of are inanimate metal tubes. like strut bars and exhausts. and even then you have to be careful, though its pretty hard to fuck up making a round pipe and still remain an ebay seller...

They're probably going to charge you full price. It's a separate issue, and a separate job. You said you wanted a clutch replaced, that's what they did.
The slave cylinder is 2 14mm bolts on the top and the bleeder bolt... with a ratchet and a socket, you can replace it yourself. Then bleed, and go!
I would also suspect the master cylinder. The WRX and STi MCs are great replacements, and...

Put it on Jack stands and run it. Makes it much easier to locate noises.

I wouldnt say its the injectors, the engine would show some signs of sputtering or misfire. It's most likely a transmission related issue, both my automatics took a few seconds to shift into drive from reverse. You usually dont want to shift into reverse until the car comes to a COMPLETE stop. If I shift into reverse with my 5spd before it comes to a complete stop my car makes evil noises at me....

Yeah, good luck with that! Per Subaru, the diff internals are non serviceable.

The shavings had to come from somewhere. What did the transfer gears look like? They are doing double the work now and are furthest away from the oil bath......
You may need to fabricate a small oilpump to circulate oil through to the tail section a bit more effectively.
