Healing: 3 EN spent. Roll = 5. (5 - 2) * 3 = 9 EN returned. Sage gets 6 of those (back to full on 10). Warrior gets 3 (now 10/12). New party order seems to be: 1 - Warrior, 2 - Trickster, 3 - Enchanter, 4 - Sage Now, those statues ... Quote: 493 The statues look too lifelike: in fact, they look like petrified humans more than works of art carved from stone. Is there a Trickster in the party? If there is, turn to 83 . If there isn't, turn...

It's interesting how Aang handles the 3 other elements. Water- easy, but doesn't get it quite as deeply as he does air. Earth- hard as heck. Fire (as taught by Jeong Jeong)- easy again, but has other issues that ment Aang wasn't ready to learn it.

Since you're not completely against classical texts, I'm going to recommend the Iliad and the Odyssey . Then, when you're done with them, read Dan Simmons Ilium , and get ready to laugh your ass off. You can go ahead and read Simmons' Olympus afterward, but it's pretty much downhill after the glory that is Ilium . If you're worried about Homer being boring and hard to read, just read the first paragraph of the...

I'm guessing that O-CHul won't get out of this alive. He may have Xykon's sparklie, but Xykon has V. "Sure you can destroy it, but I promise you, I'll make you suffer HARD. The elf too. I was just playing with you before, but I can do things that will have you begging for death, and I'll do them to the elf first, so you can see just what your 'devotion' had gotten you. I've got a pull list at my FLCS. Used to be I'd fill it with Marvel and DC stuff, with the odd gamer comic. Less of that these days; along with Conan and related titles I'm mostly picking up independents. Seeing as I just got this week's batch in (and they're really good) I thought I'd give a mention. North 40 is a new limited series from Wildstorm, written by Aaron Williams (Nodwick, ...

I've been listening to a lot of early Judas Priest (Rocka Rolla) and Saxon (I Gotta Rock (to Stay Alive)), and I've been wondering if there's any female singers in that genre. Pat Benatar is a close fit for what I'm looking for, though I'd like more Invincible and less Heartbreaker in terms of subject matter. Any suggestions?

Penny Arcade are running 3 "pilots" of strips, to be followed by a poll to see which is developed further. The first comic, "Lookouts" is pretty cool, getting a bit of a Mouse Guard vibe from it somehow. I await the next two with great interest

So Day 1 of Torchwood, as it goes a little bit 24 Overall its got a nice mix of bureaucracy, hit squads and spooky childen. Worth keeping on watching, though I'm a little confused as to why the Government forces wanted to blow up Torchwood instead of just arresting the whole team in their homes.... put a gun to Gwen's husband and she'll let them into the Hub. Or they could just deliver ...

The Hunger Games came out last year, to some very good critical reception. It quickly garnered a large number of enthusiastic young adult fans, and even landed a movie deal. In a futuristic plot that resonated with critics and readers alike, the cruel and oppressive government has enacted as part of a method to control the populace The Reaping, a hyper-violent "reality show" type game, where ...

Apparently Renly Baratheon had a male lover in the form of Loras Tyrell ( http://www.westeros.org/Citadel/SSM/Entry/1316/ ) - but I'm not sure what the Westeros attitude to homosexuality is. Would it be scandalous or accepted? Would there be religious condemnation or tolerance? When I read the books, I dont remember it being a major plot point (unlike Brienne's challenging of gender roles...

I have two theories as why Iroh is so badass-- 1) His voice actor is Mako 2) the character was written with Mako in mind. It's a shame that Mako died a few years ago. His passing leaves James Hong as the only surviving snarky old Asian Guy who is Awesome that I know of.

Am I the only one vaguely disgusted by the focus on the Pagans Versus Christians in fantasy stories as it feels a little fabricated and meant to make it more like the christians slew all the magic while simultaneously having the concurrent flaws historically it had with the implication they brought that along all those problems. Then, of course, turns out not a single bit of their dogma works ...

Not a real mutant, of course, but a mutant of the Marvel Comics variety. Let's say that you realized today that you have a moderately useful mutant ability - maybe you can generate a substantial electric charge with your hands, or perhaps you can put people to sleep via eye contact. You're no Jean Grey or Magneto, but you're no slouch. Let's further assume that said ability has a negligible efect...

Having had a most satisfactory response to my request for a new DVD series to watch on the plane, I am now on the hunt for a chunky bit of lit (for when I can't watch the DVD!) I love thrillers, history, use of ( modern) language. I love page-turners, and I read faster than anyone I know, hence the need for a Big Book, minimum 500 pages. I will read non-fiction, but it has to be extra-good to...
