Neither the MRF-260 or the MRZ-260 is compatible with your remote. Are the emitters (the specific ones on those devices) flashing when you press a button on the remote? If they are, first clean the spot on the device where the ir receiver is and then hold them about 3 inches away from the device and see if they work.

The emitters are flashing. I tied them 3" away ,still nothing, I have moved them on the sensor in front of the sensor on the side every where. . They both will work off the base unit or the remote itself but will not work with the emitters . The plasma screen does these two itiems in the cabinet won't . I tried shutting the receiver off to make sure it wasn't interferring. Any body got any other ideas?

I think the SOL solution is the key. I have the MX-500. I have tried the white paper between, bouncing it off a mirror, bouncing it off my dog, holding it upside down in the dark. Nothing works. I could spend $1000 on a new remote that works and it too will be obsolete in a few years. Manufacturers want thier product to be unique so they set them up to go against any standards out there. Apparently the program code (and/or registry entries for it) can become corrupt as well. I had remembered that I had some disk errors and ran CHKDSK. After that I had the problem with the error message. The solution (at least for me) was to re-install and use a brand new copy of the editor software. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem...

Your new sky box may take longer to power on. It is possible it is not ready to accept that command yet. Try increasing your delay.

You haven't given us enough information to get a definitive answer. Was your MX-850 reprogrammed to work with the new box, or did it just work without reprogramming (which it would if you went from an HR20 to an HR21)? If no reprogramming was done, did the DirecTv guy affix the emitter from the MRF-250 to the face of your HR21? If not, that's your problem. If he did, it may not be placed in...

I have a MX-500 and had Uverse installed month ago. I programed in everything by following the manual's instructions and all is well. I suggt you try again with a different Uverse remote. If this does not work than there maybe someting wrong with the learning feature of the MX-500.

Are you sure you located the correct position of the IR receiver on the Yamaha? If you don't have the emitter placed right on the IR receiving eye of the Yamaha, that may be your problem. Mike

Your issue may have more to do with the SA8300HD. How does this device work when trying to control IR with the URC300? It could be you're overloading the SA8300HD. Although it is for the mx-700, this editor in this tutorial video is more or less the same. Going through this should help you out quite a bit.
