You can start by reading the online help of the editor. You can get background from the ProntoEdit4 Guide in the Classic Pronto Files section and if you are inclined to spend $20, you can get more background with the Ultimate Pronto Guide (developed for the Next Generatation - predecessor to the Pro remotes) from www.remotequest.com or www.prontowizard.com .

If you're unfamiliar with Javascript, I'd look into it. ProntoScript is basically JS 1.6 with a few additions (sockets are neat). I'd also check out [Link: w3schools.com ] for a bit of information on Javascript. The information is a bit basic for JS, but you'd be surprised how little you need to know about JS for things to start falling into place. Of course, pick up the documentation in the files section (from January...

RFX9600 Relay use

On November 26, 2009 at 18:02, buzz said... Stephen Coates, I don't know exactly which relay Phillips is using or what you are controlling. As long as your use is within the relay's intended operating range, it doesn't matter very much. Typically, a non sealed relay's contacts oxidize over time. Not using the relay or keeping it always closed is the worst case. Regularly opening and closing a relay tends to scrub the...

You can make your own with most graphics applications or have a look in the files area of this site and download configs that contain buttons and graphical elements you like. To extract them you may need to install a different version of the pronto editor software. A web search for free icons / buttons is worthwhile too, e.g. [Link: blog.guifx.com ]

waspy59, ProntoScript does not support "calling" a page. You must use an executeActions() targeting a jump button.

Trouble learning function on...

I realized my mistake!!! I had taken "Main Zone RXZ " from the database and removed all codes except the HDMI's and set it up as a device. forgot to check off the extender. The inconsistent results were because the odd time when the door to the cabinet was open it would work, sorry for wasting your time.

I had/have the same problem. I replaced the battery that a friend at Philips set me and it worked fine for a couple of months. It has started once again doing the same thing. I feel it is the charging circuit over charging the battery. I now por id down when I am not using it. I have no info on where to get the battery and If anyone else does I would like to know that, at least the mfg (other...

Kleo2009 A mini jack (that looks like the jack for IR on back of RFX9600) will likelyNOT be RS-232. If the TV supports RS-232, there should be a 9-pin DB9 connector on the back.

The FAQ on Philips Site explains how to do a complete firmware reload. LowPro also has posted this. Search for Firm2 Firm3 Firm4 and I think you will find the post. Or, if you don't want to search, look in FAQ on Philips site.

Just like to say hello to everyone here on remote central...... Just recently purchased a 9600 and have just download the Padone software. All is working great except that it loses the wifi connection every so often. The strange thing is,it seems to lose the connection when the screen is lit up,but as soon as the back light goes after about 20 seconds and i tilt the remote so it lights up ...

Search for Mitsubishi Discrete HDMI in the NG forum. There are 2 posts there that will likely help. If you cannot figure out a valid function number using my CCF (available in link from the threads I reference), email me because I have a 62" mits and I used one of the functions (HDMI/MonLink I think) from my original CCF for HDMI-1.

No I haven't (and being totally honest wouldn't know how ;-) ) That said if anyone can do this and is willing to share, would be hugely appreciated. Even for basic 2-way control of music. Have an AppleTV in our showroom and really impressed with what it does & how it does it (even tho it only does a limited amount of stuff and could do so much more!!). The great thing about AppleTV is that ...

I do something similar. I do use multiple devices but under a single activity. All code is at the activity level (con - longer startup time for the activity) and therefore global to all devices/pages of the activity. In the activity there is a basic loop which acts as a finite state machine implimented via a switch statement. The code for each page is identical and is set to repeat every ...

The latest Phillips Database has an entry for "Main Zone RXZ and V All Models V2" and similar for Zones 2 and 3. I don't know what you mean by HDMI 4 (I know it's 5 in 2 out, but the 5 in will be tied to inputs if it's like the RX-V3900). Open up PEP2 and go to "My Database". Hit "Check for updates". Follow the links, download the file, then, back in PEP2, click "Open Other Database" in the...
