If it responds to normal IR commands, then yes. You add it as a device and either use the commands from the harmony database or you learn the commands from the URC remote.

Harmony 890/890Pro/900 box contents

On December 16, 2009 at 21:05, speedemn said... Thanks for clarifying the package contents... and with the 900 I assume you mean 1 RF blaster and 2 RF mini blasters... not IR? They are IR blasters because they "blast" IR signals to your IR devices. The only thing that talks RF is the receiver and the remote. On December 16, 2009 at 21:05, speedemn said... Site is back up, so here we go (These are from the Web interface, the actual software instructions could be slightly different)... Go to the Device menu and Select your TV. Click on More Options Click on Adjust Inputs Select: Method 2: Select this method if the remote has labeled buttons like VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, and each button displays a unique source input label on the screen and click on Next Confirm that all your inputs appear in the next...

Harmony One Question
Published (2009-12-12 16:15:00)
Currently I am using the Sony RM AX4000 remote which has been discontinued by Sony. This remote did everything I needed it to do plus some, but the keys are starting to wear, so I am looking into the Harmony One. Has anyone had any experience with the Sony and the Harmony one so they can give me a comparison of the differences. I guess what I am trying to say is will both units perform the same tasks. The Sony was pretty easy to program after...

And when the TV is on and I hit on Power On nothing happens as expected. So I don't know what is happening... Here is some additional discovery... Hi, I am still very curious about how does the Hamony learn to know what is on or off, in case of the TV happens to get out of sync with the remote. How does the Hamony manage to do that ? Amazing job.

The help button should not do that. What happens if you hit the "Watch TV" twice in a row? Hitting the same activity again will cause all discrete commands to be re-sent to all devices configured to use the discrete method. If the same thing happens, then the TV PowerOn command may be clobbered by the other device discrete commands. Try increasing the TV Power On delay or the TV Inter-Device delay. Note: I am not sure if the power...

Don't worry about the sarcasm akirby. I knew it was either a good question or a dumb one. Dosen't matter I didn't have to ask other questions to get it to do what I wanted therefore I consider it a good question. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Have a great week-end.

The Harmony one is a nice remote. Probably the nicest Harmony made to date. It is quite a bit different from your previous remote though. I am not sure what you mean when you say "I may be wasting my time trying to get button results out of an activity based remote"

First, the IR blasters on the 900 don't have to go directly on the component, you can just place them somewhere towards the front or on the side of your components and they'll still work very well. You can choose whether you want them stuck directly on a component and thus dedicated to that component, or if you want them to blast in the general direction of a stack of components. This is ...

1) Make sure the power commands you tested in device mode are the same ones used in the Power Settings configuration. 2) When you test a discrete command in device mode, always press it more than once to verify that indeed it has a discrete action (does not toggle nor cycle). Note: I just checked the database for the Sony KDL-52W5100 model, and it does not have the discrete "PowerOn" and "...

I think they just did a quick hack to the software to look for specific keywords and substitute predefined images which is a lot simpler than allowing the user to choose any image. Not saying it's the right way to do it, and they could have at least ignored case. Just trying to point out why it was probably done that way.

You need an adapter because the PS3 doesn't have an IR port. You can get a usb adapter for cheap. Most people go with the Nyko remote that comes with a USB adapter. It works pretty good but you cannot use it to turn the PS3 on and no PS button. A better solution is an IR to Bluetooth converter. These will support all functions of the official remote. Unfortunately, they cost a little but ...

Yes. You can choose between regular IR and IR through the RF extender for each device.

the beauty of all harmony remotes is their "smart state" technology. the remote will keep track of the components that are on and off and only turn on those that need it for a new activity. so to answer your question. no, the remote will keep your tv on when you switch from 'watch tv' to 'watch dvd' activity. it will then switch the tv's video input to the correct one for dvd if it needs to. ,r

The 880 has been discontinued. You may still be able to find some new stock out there though. If you were happy with the 670 then the 880 should meet your needs. The whole harmony more or less works the same way. There are really four differentiators in their model line. 1. The layout: Each remote has a greatly different button layout and LCD screen. Some have more hard buttons, same ...

I think that was an incorrect assumption. I don't find anything about that feature and if it was available on the 700 it would be available on the others as well. I replaced my 720 with a Harmony ONE - highly recommended.

For this type of input selection, you need to contact Logitech support and have them setup Method 5 (aka Multimethod) for you, it is a combination of method 2 and method 1.

I've been very happy with mine and had it set up in no time at all. I've got an 880. I just purchased a new TV after nearly 9 years with the Pioneer projection HD television I have. I'm struggling on a couple of little things like time delays because the Sony takes so long to power on. But it's still the best remote I've ever used.
