By the way, it's a balun between what and what pieces of equipment? i only doubt the ability of the equipment because all of the other manufacturers stop at 900Mhz. And all audio amplifier manufacturers specify at 8 ohms because that's what the FTC wants for apples to apples...

these remotes are designed for the end user to program. not for a real system like CI's do. don't expect CI level stuff from a walmart remote. steven

CAT cables are made with different amounts of twist on each pair to lower crosstalk, but there's no standard for this, so going from 568A to 568B should only help if everyone uses the same brand and model of wire. If you have a separate remote eye for the multi-room it should work with the standard RC-5 codeset. Marantz used the same ir codes for years, if that doesn't work I will look around for an old remote, which commands are you looking for? Also try a Universal Remote, it may have the codes in their very extensive database.

The Denon is ignoring the display because something downstream is out of HDMI spec. If you are getting audio from both sources the most likely culprit is the balun system (usually relating to EDID corruption). Re-terminate your ends.

If you don't want that NAD amp, I promise to keep it out of the dumpster. :) As for the sub, it's too expensive to be shipping around. B&Ws subs were never ground pounders, but they are clean and will pull a decent figure from Audiogon or eBay. I would definitely look into repairing it... Hopefully you can find a local shop to repair it, or at least pull out the amp and send it in ...

The approach is to convert those commands into Pronto hex, make a Pronto ccf, and then import them using the 850 software's Universal Browser. You're out of your depth with the 850, and that's too bad. Did I just make it worse, or perhaps a bit better?

I have only heard of people with confidential work (i.e. military contractors) deploying this in the special areas where they don't want people to hear the conversation. Having had to have meeting in such conference rooms, I have to tell you that it is one of the most annoying things there is. No one can properly understand anyone else in that environment. This is a Fuji 55 inch in an office conference room with Polyvision mounted to the bottom. The polyvision connects the plasma to a PC and lets you do all kinds of fancy stuff with presentations. Small part of a current job. Simon.
