I think your main hurdle is going to be the T's general indifference to allowing anything. The
Homeland Security excuse gets trotted out to table any discussion of letting non-employees document or get direct access to their infrastructure, even on something like this which would be a supervised visit that I'm sure you'd get all appropriate waiver for. I would say good luck and keep trying, ...

An article by a guy who knows nothing about trains or the costs and had nothing better to write about so he wrote an article based on a "what if?"/whim. I don't see it ever happening in the future. For a couple reasons... They are antiquated. If the MBTA wanted used crap, the RDCs would not be their first choice. Another reason is that they are pretty much
beyond repair. Also, unless the ...

Actually, It is currently used. Riverside-bound trains are terminated at Reservoir sometimes when there are
two trains too close to each other. However, this is not a scheduled service. The train will later go back into service towards Beaconsfield, loading passengers from the platform. I believe in years past, Reservoir trains were scheduled, but I don't remember when this practice ended. Also...

Sometime way down the road, you might see
commuter rail to Springfield, but the double track between Worcester and Springfield would have to be put back and you can be sure CSX will not pay for that. I suppose that at some point Amtrak might add a couple of trains to New York via what they called the "inland route" via Worcester, Springfield and New Haven. However, I don't think CSX will allow ...

From: http://mysite.verizon.net/rtspcc/MBTARouteHistory. pdf Concerning route 77: (Page 61) -This route was converted from streetcar to bus on 11/19/1955. Looks like it was never
trackless trolley, as they limited those lines to the north cambridge carhouse. You can find a lot of good information in that PDF. If you know the bus line, you can find it and see if it was a trolley or ...

Were they still running Needham service via the Highland near the end of B&A operations, or was that
already gone by then? Don't know where else to stick it, so I'll stick it here since it's semi-related to the above... Googled up the Route 128 widening plans last night and they are indeed funded for a full rebuild of the Needham line bridge over the highway with all-new abutments that'll fit ...

No, the PCCs cannot run on the green line. When the Boeings were delivered, they ran with
trolley poles because the pantograph could not be used with trolley wire, and the trolley poles could not be used with catenary. The problem is that the trolley poles need guides when the trolley wire splits or merges like at switches. Those guides would trip the pantograph on a LRV. Without guides, a ...
