Caught CSX #7334 in full dress blue this past Sunday, March 22, on the River Line leading Q-433 southbound through Iona Island. It doesn't show up well in the photos but he also had his red markers on. 2009-03-22, Q-433 Southbound On The River Line.JPG (223.55 KiB) Viewed 205 times

Conrail is still alive as Conrail Shared Assets. It's a jointly controlled entity of CSX and NS. They operate in northern NJ and Detroit areas. When NS and CSX took over Conrail, they couldn't agree on who got these high volume / traffic areas, so to get the deal done, they allowed "CSA" to operate to serve both railroads equally. Through freights ran from Selkirk to Beacon, over the Maybrook Line from Beacon to Danbury to Derby and then down the Waterbury Branch to Devon and then to New Haven.... Local freights operated out of Danbury.... http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=54644 Some traffic on the New Haven Line, mostly lumber yards here and there... -otto-
