hiya I have had my bowel programme done on my right side before, and have not really noticed any difference to my left side, maybe a little bit longer but not noticeably so. I use Microlax which is a mini enema, I do this every day and have not noticed any side effects other than a lot of noisy wind before the rectum starts emptying lol. As far as doing a quick bowel routine I don't know if I can be of any help, it says on the Microlax...

Karl - alrighty then, count me in on the dark side! Vern - thank you very much. We're still in the very early stages of filing the claims and I'll see how it works out. I'm sure I will have MANY questions as time goes by. Meanwhile, I'll be hanging out on the dark side

Kidney/bladder Stones

Thanks for the response. Went to the ER Friday night and they said I had a stone in the bladder and a few in the Kidneys but basically just said I had to wait out the pain until they pass.

Side Effects Of Drugs

Hi all, Over the last couple of years I have been experiencing unexplained changes in my nerves and some odd feelings in my legs. It started off with tingling in my lower legs and now I get tingling, pins and needles, numbness and pain in my hands and legs too. I was sent for an MRI which was inconclusive. Only recently I realised I get these symptoms more around the time I am taking Noroxin. I have asked my GP and specialist as well as...

Managing A Vesicostomy
Published (2009-11-25 04:06:00)
hello i actually happen to have one myself so ask anything and write me whenever. Basically a vesicostomy, is the bladder is sewn, directly to the outer skin wall. Leaving ahole, in which pee exits the boby whenever pee is present in the bladder very clean in uti type problems because of the constant, peeing but i keeps an ostomy patch over mine and change about every 5-8 days. Forget home remedies. If you think you have kidney stones, or kidney infection, get yourself to a doctor.

Supra Pubic And Dysreflexia

QUOTE (neotrin @ Nov 13 2009, 11:50 AM) Hi, I've been on here before and have had a supra pubic catheter for the past 3 years. I thought it was the best thing I ever did and still do, but I've been having some "autonomic dysreflexic" symptoms. I'm a c4,5,6 quadriplegic and was wondering if there's anything I can do. I'm almost positive it's due to my catheter. I get it changed...

Supra Pubic And Dysreflexia
Published (2009-11-26 02:27:00)
I have a SP and it's the biggest problem I have. Long story short I started getting bad spasms a few years after getting one back in 1988. Since my bladder was always draining it shrank which allowed the tube to hit my bladder wall. After having lots of spasms and getting dydreflexia often I asked them to remove it, but was told my bladder was too small and too scarred to be stretched out again. That ruled out cathing, unless I wanted to...

I'm really sorry to hear about your husband. A lot depends on his injury being complete or incomplete. I'm guessing it's probably incomplete, but you want to find that out. Also, ask about his ASIA rating (A-E). You may want to put this in your profile so we can reference it. As for the flaccid bowel, it is my understanding that any injury above the T12 generally results in a "reflex" ...

Hi hopelesslydevoted, A Suprapubic Catheter is a long term indwelling cath that enters the bladder through the abdomen & replaces the use of a Foley indwelling catheter that enters the bladder through the urethra. There are too many reasons to list here why someone needs to use a foley or suprapubic catheter but the Suprapubic would normally be used in people with urethral injury or ...

QUOTE (partygirl @ Nov 15 2009, 07:28 AM) neotrin, why do you think it's your SPC that is causing the AD? Are you having any other symptoms of UTI such as smelly urine, shivers, etc. are you able to test your urine? you can get test sticks called 'multistix' from a pharmacy or drug store, so you can keep a check on bugs and blood in your urine. drink lots of water and flush your ...

I wish there was such a site. Mel,,, but the one you are at is about as good as you will find. There simply isn't any way to forsee what recovery is possible for any given individual. That said,, if you use the search feature,, you will find a wealth of information, here, that will help you deal with the problem while you wait for the recovery,,, however much that will be. I wish your ...

I take Bio-K Plus, a a pro-biotic capsule (every other day). Each capsule contains 30 billion of L.acidophilus and L.casei. Most other sources of proboitics have significantly less amounts and thus they aren't effective. The stuff works; in my opinion it's the best out there.

Hi, This could be due to any of the following: Localised trauma around the catheter site. Bladder infection. Bladder spasticity. The bladder spasticity could just be naturally occurring, and can be controlled with medication, or it could be a symptom of bladder trauma or infection. I'd get a urine test to rule out an infection, then make sure the catheter isn't getting pulled when ...
