The days of me buying stuff like this are over. The Oppo is fine enough for me at this point.
Still, I'm glad it's out there for folks with the desire and cash to buy. The more, the merrier!

Not to thread cap, but here is another good SACD/DVDA player deal. The
Denon 758 (1940) for $70 new at your local Costco. I bought one for a back up.
Note: Not all Costco's seems to have these in stock on the floor.

My Onkyo CP802 got flooded and I'd love to replace it, but I can't find anything near the price range (<$500) that does DVD-A and SACD in a changer. It doesn't have to be Blu-Ray. I'd buy a refurb CP802 if I could find one.
Anyone?

I have the Yamaha RX-V663 and like it well enough. I don't know what he means by better audio processing than newer Yamaha models but if he is comparing it to the replacement model, the RX-V863, I would like to know the specifics, better DAC's? If he is comparing it to lesser models, ok but so what. The RX-V861 decodes
SACD and DVD-A over HDMI but does not decode the lossless compressed Blu-...

Well, I qualify so I read it and it looks like the only things you can get are:
1) Reimbursement of fee paid to get a
firmware upgrade (mine was free except I had to pay postage and that isn't covered)
2) Free firmware upgrade
3) $50 voucher (towards a Pioneer purchase) for those who never received the upgrade.
No windfall for Pioneer owners, but reasonable as it does allow everyone ...

This is another clone of the
Oppo. The menus and the rear are the same.

Update to the saga
First a confession; I now know what caused the disc jam in the
Kenwood changer. NEVER EVER put a disc in the slot # of the disc that is currently playing! When you change discs and tries to put it away with that same slot #, well it's a physics problem.
The Kenwood has been singing perfectly, getting used to using the remote and getting what I want is happening more ...

How is this an alternative if it probably costs 5 times more?

I am also wondering if the 46av can compare with the OPPO players
