Creative Labs DTS-610 will convert 5.1 analog to DTS 5.1 digital, feed that to the receiver digital input. Recently was on sale at Amazon for $25.00. Also recently several on ebay for a reasonable price.

You would never get that to line up properly. You could possibly get it to be close, but it would probably have
phasing issues.

I would guess that the drive belt is slipping and needs to be replaced. Also, be sure you have the
line voltage switch in the proper position for your location.

I am not familiar with this particular unit, but I believe that the usual routine of cleaning all pots with De-Oxit and checking for open leads on the boards will fix a lot of problems.
I am sure some of our other forum members will have unit specific information for you.

Hello do not take out the 2x switch I repeat do not
I did these have a problem in
two channel that smokes your out put trans and it is worse if you take out the 2x switching I did during a quad bob restore if you don't have all four speakers hooked up our one comes disconnected it will smoke the out put trans it has something to do with the grounding in the switch.
I'm still using my preamp ...

The cheapest option would be the Momitsu player and various clones, you can find information about it and the various clones online if you want to take a chance on a cheap throwaway
