Despite the fact that our lives seem quite different I can relate to what you're going through.......difficulty in job search, feeling overwhelmed, depression as a result of a relationship, etc. One piece of advice I can give (that I should give to myself as well) is....and it may sound corny and cliche, but just take things
day by day. Step by step. If you try to fill all the holes in your life ...

Hi all, I'm new to the community. I graduated with a BA in Journalism but chose not to pursue it, although I continue to write fiction on my own as a hobby. Since graduating, I've worked as the
office manager at a nonprofit for 3+ years. They cut my hours back in February 2009 but just recently offered me a full-time position again, which I took. However, I was less than elated. I feel stagnated ...

Katar, you are on
the right track! I like the fact you have future goals and are always hungry for knowledge and more! I think you're doing exceptionally well and to be honest I wouldn't stress because you're doing pretty well right now. A lot of people are in a more dire situation with yuckier circumstances. I like that you're involved in voluntary work as well! Not to mention you're an ...

First of all, I think it's SO awesome that you moved to the UK! I studied in London when I was in college and I've been dying to move there for good ever since. I have
EU citizenship so I could actually live and work there, but I'm too poor and wimpy to get my act together and just go!
Anyway, 24 is NOT old, and I'm a big advocate of getting one's education. That being said, even at 24 or 25...

Figured I might find a solution to my problem here, or at least people in the same situation.
I'm currently 23 years old and have a (university) B.Sc degree in
biomedical sciences. I was always very interested in molecular biology and DNA and the "building blocks of life" and that kind of stuff. One day, I wanted to get a job in this field, as a researcher. And I was ready to put a lot of ...

As a social worker, I can definitely tell you that
getting a job and/or a Master's in the helping professions is not going to end your daily contacts with crazy and annoying co-workers. In fact, if anything, it is only going to increasingly add to it.
I also think it's like this probably in every field, not just human services.
I think if you can learn how to better cope with ...
