Northeastern is by no means a cheap school either, maybe you need to find a cheaper place to live outside the city further or cheaper rent. I'm paying loans back too right now and with the little money i make i know i couldnt afford to live in a city unless i was making good money, but with loans and all the other bills I'am now responsible for it is hard.

Spirituality, Religion - what do...

My mom isn't very religious. On my Dad's side he is a practicing Catholic. I know my aunt worries about me that I don't go to mass. My Dad wished I did, and encourages me when I think about it, but for the most part, religion in my family is pretty private. My wife's family is Catholic, though she is a solitary pagan. Her grandparents gave her a hard time when we didn't get married in a church, and didn't baptise...

Thanks hoodie, glad you could give me some perspective. I haven't been lounging around the house by any means, in fact I have been busier now only because my work had become routine. E.g. I've been on an interview, been sending out resume's and networking...so I've productive and not just navel-gazing, heh. lol I think initially I was just "shocked", trying to decide where to start - things were daunting,...

Dating someone with no friends?
Published (2009-12-28 19:12:00)
I totally agree with what Rage said, and I would never not date a guy because he didn't have many friends. I know some great people who don't have a lot of friends, and this often has nothing to do with them, but rather is due to other circumstances, like moving around frequently, having been in a serious relationship for a while, etc. My only problem would be that I enjoy being with my friends without my boyfriend (not always, of...

I still occasionally complain about the weather (especially just coming back up from Florida this weekend), and I think it's cold....

Happy birthday, soulful.
Turning 27 is weird. You're in your late 20s now not your mid-20s. I had to process that a little when I turned 27.
I have to say, it is completely understandable to feel a lack of direction after losing your job. Being laid off is demoralizing.
I think you aren't unrealistic to want a little break to process it and decide what to do next, as long as you put ...

Two points:
1) Infatuation (also called love) is blind. Any girl who digs you enough to date you consistently is likely to overlook the fact that you have no friends if your other qualities are redeeming. Hmmm! Interesting question. I actually had different periods in my life and have lived in both extremes!... But, if we we're talking about the times where I didn't have a great deal of friends....I had sisters to talk instead.
I suppose, I read books, did exercise, wrote a journal, googled things. How did I get by? Um....putting my focus into my studies I suppose or taking up certain ...

I've always known fairly quickly/early on in the process. but everyone's different. I also am pretty "bloom where I'm planted," in that I've loved living various places that were by turns very rural, inner city, small town, and suburban in character. I find that the place is less important than the overall quality of life, which may or may not change based on where one is. You ...
