Hi I fully agree with the confidence guru but have you ever looked at any of Wayne Dyer's works. He promotes living to your higher self and being at peace. It sounds a bit airy fairy but it does ultimately give you a more peaceful life. It might be worth a look. Good Luck Jodie

I know, I am trying to find a way. I am reading, going to career change events, talking to people but so far the main problem is I don't have anything I would like to achieve, I mean, when you have a passion or a clera idea where you want to go everything is easier as you have the motivation; right now, even the things I used to enjoy doing are meaningless. I think I am going through a minor depression but even if I am trying to get out...

you have to balance your thoughts about yourself. for one thing, are you qualified to judge yourself harshly? None of us are. It's pretty rare that any of us are in any mightier position to also judge another. think of children. do they become better people with being treated harshly? Or with love and patience? here's a secret. the same feelings we have as children, they pretty much run us all of our lives. they're just a bit...

What you're describing shows that you are very analytical and self conscious. I would even say that it's normal and to be expected to a certain extent... as you do take to heart what other people think of you. Depending on the nature of the speech you're holding, here's some tips I have found can help: 1) if this is in a work / university / school environment... be knowledgeable of your topic and try and anticipate the...

Hi
I know how difficult it can be but I read this the other day. It might be a useful starting point:
"The starting point to change is to look at yourself in a new way. Tell yourself you can change. You are starting a new chapter in your life. You are now going to act in a different way. You no longer think of how shy you used to be but you think of the social ...

If you know that you are right, you should just speak up. You can still be polite, but also express your opinions.

Most feelings of awkwardness with people seem to be related to a low self-esteem , that tends to put you on the defensive. It causes you to feel anxious. It makes you think that other people tend to have negative thoughts about you. Of course this may be reinforced by your nervousness. It's like a vicious circle. Most feeling of a negative self-image is not always due to your past ...

THe ideal situation is that we are in full control over our emotions every minute of the day. Unfortunately, the reality is different. Our emotions are not only controlled by what is going on in our mind, but also in our body's ability to produce the right amount of hormones and neurotransmitters to make us feel good about ourselves. It is sad that we have no direct control over our ...

Are you actually able to take in the information? Some people who are anxious in situations were they will need to concentrate become so busy consciously attempting to "do concentrating" that they cannot take information in. Some find the strain of trying to listen exhausting. I know that depression can affect concentration. If your recovery is recent, concentration may take time ...

I really applaud your honesty and gain of slight confidence!
especially the big step youve taken to change your username which is a constant reminder of that negative night.
remeber to dispell any previous signs of your negative behaviour away from view and mind, until you are confident enought to confront them.
it sounds to me like your on the right track!

Thing is I have no idea why I struggle with these problems, i'm 29 now and have been on anti-depressants since I was about 19, this seemed to have been triggered after a break-up with my partner (whom i'm back with and now married to!!) but why the problems have persisted is a ...
