My favorite part was when Angle came out the night after SummerSlam and was chucking milk cartons at the Alliance.

a couple of people have mentioned Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood. What about two guys that were big competition for them back then--Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernoodle? Someone else mentioned Gino Hernandez. I vaguely remember him. What happened to him? I know he died but I don't know how.

Favourite Year of Wrestling

2000 all the way. The Rock was on top of the wrestling world at this time, HHH was trailblazing himself, and the Undertaker made a radical shift in character as the American Badass. 2000 also had the hottest tag team division ever, as well as awesome midcard feuds (Benoit vs Jericho immediately come to mind).

Now these two are the biggest names in wrestling. Both guys had amazing carrier and astonishing skills, but as every one knows that all good things have an end. Shawn is known as one of the greatest in ring performer of all time while Undertaker's streak and legacy can never ever be duplicated. But as i see shawn now-a-days i really get an feeling that he is just going through the motion and dragging himself just like what flair used to...

Yeah, but storylines not making sense were a problem long before the Invasion. I never understood why coming from another company would automatically make you a heel. It's like the Alliance had no real motivation apart from continuing the Mcmahon feud which had gotten old by the end of 2000. It's the same problem with Austin's heel turn that year; they had no decent motivation for it and his character had no direction which is...

Favourite Year of Wrestling

This thread has been made multiple times, yes, but it never really gets old. There are always newer members ready with different opinions. My pick is 2001. It had an epic buildup to the best WrestleMania of all time. The Vince/Austin/Triple H alliance made for great storylines. Paul Heyman took over on color, far surpassing Jerry Lawler. The women's division took its first steps toward respectability in several years. The Invasion story...

I couldn't pick just one. But 1992, and 1998 were IMO, the best years for wrestling.

Well, part of the reason for this debacle was that Stephanie Mcmahon just became head of creative. She was around before, BUT there were already storyboards up until WrestleMania 17 for her by the old head of creative.
That should explain why the angles got so confusing in that year and went downhill. The wwe lost the head writer who made the previous year's story-lines and matches. She was ...

Tyson doesn't have the mental capacity to handle what is required to put on
a decent wrestling match. Hell, he couldn't even do the crotch-chop at the
correct camera at Mania 14.

The WWF ran shows at MSG on a monthly basis. They also ran monthly cards in Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Nassau also on a roughly a monthly basis as well as other cities on the east coast. They had a syndicated program that ran throughout the territory. It went though a few names through the years but the ones I remember are Championship Wrestling and All-Star Wrestling. In the mid-...

~This is one of my all time favourite matches. The story, the build and the in-ring action are all perfect. It's incredible to think that this was HBK's first match in years and yet it delivered so well.

While I don't know what the planned finish was I remember rumours being that if Benoit or Jericho had won the title they would have joined the Alliance. That would have been a huge boon for the alliance to not only get one of those guys but also the WWE Title.

I personally see Taker closer to it than HBK. Shawn may take some time off to spend with his kids, but he's not in debilitating pain/needing surgery that would mark the end of his career like Taker is reported to be in need of.

Without a doubt, John Cena/Umaga. Told an amazing story, made both guys look incredible, and seeing it in the movie theater on the big screen just made it that much better. There were even people in the theater screaming and cheering .
Triple H/Chris Jericho is a close second, though.

The top power wrestler of your list would have to be Hogan on drawing power
alone. His charisma, promotion (both with Vince and by himself), and
ability to work a crowd trancend pro wrestling. But I never considered
Hogan or the others on your list to be true power wrestlers. Hogan was a
brawler who could overpower smaller wrestlers, but who had to overcome much
more powerful opponents (such as ...
