I would like to suggest TFF for inclusion on PA. The band as many know commenced in 1983 with their debut album The Hurting , a great concept album and whilst at times showing a commercial edge the more progressive creative tracks like Pale Shelter, Ideas as Opiates, Watch Me Bleed and Start of the Breakdown demonstrate solid progressive platforms ...

For me ok, because it is a concept album, with pioneering use of synthesizers (not the first record with moog though), psychedelic elements. As it was one-shot band, there will be no problems including it on proto-prog, mainly considering that there are some psych pop bands with no prog tendencies included there.

Hi users of Prog Archives Did anyone hear about the Danish band Day of Phoenix ? I hope to have them cleared for addition on Prog Archives. Does anyone have any comments regarding Day of Phoenix ? If you want to search out their discography they have only made two albums: Wide Open N-Way from 1970 and The Neighbours Son from 1972. Both ...

Hey, I think that Novembers Doom from The US should be added for Tech/Extreme prog. They're sort of a Doomier version of Opeth. They use clean and female vocals and acoustic guitars. Great band. http://www.novembersdoom.com/ http://www.myspace.com/novembersdoom Jake

I would have thought this lot would have come up before, but I can't find any results in a search of the site. Can't say I'm a fan of them myself, but this isn't about whether they're any good or not, but whether they ought to be on this site. So, punters. What about it? Is THE POLYPHONIC SPREE a prog rock band?...

Hey, I suggest a band called Ikuinen Kaamos from Finland to be added to the archives in the Tech/Extreme section. They sound very much like Opeth and early Ulver. I think they'd be an excellent edition. You can listen to their music here: http://www.myspace.com/ikuinenkaamos Thanks, Jake

Muck Groh (real name Werner Groh) used to be the guitarist in the German Jazz / Fusion outfit Aera (featured in ProgArchives), having previously formed the band ' Ihre Kinder . Having left Area, Groh embarked on a solo career, and in 1979 released a tremendous album - Muckef**k 01. Zappenduster 02. Traumtänzer 03. Elfenkönigin auf Staatsbesuch im ...

Frans Keylard showcased this Iranian artist's talents on his Rogues Gallery show, and I was pretty impressed with what I heard. If pushed I would suggest this falls under the progressive metal sub-genre. Some blistering, very fresh sounding guitar work on this album. Some quotes: "Agah Bahari is writing cutting edge instrumental progressive rock....

So, there are a lot of classic bands from Czechoslovakia that are still missing from this site, maybe due to lack of knowledge abroad. And having a sizable music from this collection I'll attempt to correct that. Here is a list of bands I'd like to see added: Bacily (prog-related?) Bohemia (jazz-rock/fusion) C&K Vocal (eclectic) Energit (jazz-rock/...

Apart from the professional links with other prog acts, I don't really hear a lot of prog in their last two albums (the ones I own) - very good melancholic rock, often quite predictable, and very Floyd-influenced. Do you believe their first two albums have a stronger proggish component? Worthy of considering for Prog-Related, probably not for prog ...
