1- Depends on your structure. If you're short waisted and have wide hips than higher belt is more comfortable. For guys with big bellies its easier to put the belt lower. 2-No such thing. Lift where you are comfortable at. The only problem with being tall and lifting in a lighter class would be you would generally have to be leaner and or have less muscle than a shorter lifter. Congratulations on deciding to do your first meet. -Your opener should be easy and get you in the meet. Shoot for a small pr on the second and a bigger one on the third. stretch more. i used to pull/strain my adductors at every meet i would squat in untill i started taking stretching seriously. it sounds like you just just pulled a muscle when you were squating, so stretching will help with both rehab and prevention.
