Just ordered the Michelin Energy Saver A/S for my Prius. I have the touring model so needed the P195/55/16 tires that were a special order in our city. Hope they work as billed. Good luck with your search.

There have been some discussions about how to measure the traction battery capacity but very few have taken time to do it: backing up a hill - the altitude change when it runs out of 'omph' is proportional to the traction battery AHr. Best done after doing a 'forced charge' to bring the traction battery up to maximum energy level. leaving car in "R" with brake on and every other electrical ...

It's not possible to "reflash" the Classic engine or hybrid vehicle ECUs. This is why a number of Classic owners had to get new engine ECUs installed as the firmware evolved (my 2001 also benefited from this.) When was the last time your iridium spark plugs were replaced? If not recently, I'd start with a fresh set of correct NGK or Denso iridium plugs. Then, clean the throttle body interior ...

100 miles...might as well try. I'd suggest having a back up plan (ie. a ride home). The closer you can get the less expensive it will be to tow. You should be able to find a salvage battery and have it installed for less than $1000. A brand new battery will be around $2300 + installation. Hope that's all that's really wrong with it...it seems odd though, one would think the original ...

Thanks, we are always interested in what works. We can figure out why later! I'd guess that your car has an unusual 'fuel map' (relationship between throttle butterfly angle and fuel injector milliseconds), for whatever reason. Disconnecting the 12 would cause that relatinoship to be forgotten, so the ECU would use default values. Without much success. Any way to get the relearning started would...

Hi Julianne, When you see the traction battery SOC gauge moving up and down quickly, that is an excellent indication that the battery is bad. Normally the Classic gauge will only show 50% or 75%. Unfortunately repair prices in Japan are quite high as you've noticed (probably to encourage new car sales). Your car probably has to be scrapped if you can't obtain a used battery. Good ...

audio aux-in for 2003? Hi all. I have a 2003 Prius, no CD player or navigation system, and I've been listening to my iPod through a Belkin charger/audio-out and a cassette adapter. However, my tape deck just died, and I don't like FM transmitters, and I'd prefer not to bother with installing a new CD player. So it looks like I want a FMM-100 from installer dot com (which I ...
