Heres another one I heard all of the time while I was in. "Federal inmates qualify for Social Security Disability or SSI and lump sum benefits upon release because you have become institutionalized" NOT HAPPENING Inmates had even typed up lists that were being passed around of all the benefits that were supposedly available through Social Security. All of them were bogus

What is the process for the PSR?
Published (2010-01-06 06:13:00)
The investigator in my son's case must have done his job very thoroughly. He mentioned that he worked formerly worked in a federal facility so he must have thought the PSR/PSI was very important. I can honestly say he was very detailed.

Wow! I am finding responses all over the board.. The system is not very consistent! I wonder if it depends on what the crime is?

Thank you very much for your answers I'd rather know the truth than any false hope (had too much of it during the whole process up to his sentencing).

Maybe once you see your Pre-sentence report, and the actual number 8, then you can relax. Rarely do government reps tell you that you aren't going to jail, so it seems to me that you can trust them. Your job will probably be contacted, unless you get unsupervised probation. i hope you are seeing a good therapist, this process is very anxiety producing for everyone who goes through it.

Outraged is on the money. Aside from earning GCT, halfway house, and any reduction related to RDAP, there isn't anything else that will reduce his time. And commutation and/or pardon is EXTREMELY rare. Sorry

Outraged wouldn't you agree the most common is the imminent legislation reinstating parole and/or changing good time from 85% to 65%? Every day it seems someone unwittingly posts that they heard that was going to be passed into law tomorrow, and then you, bellisq, or zelda comes and tells them it's a fallacy.

I think you might wait on being firm on the date until all the paperwork is done. Things have a way of disappearing, or needing to be added to, etc. There are a lot of people who have been through the process, so I'm sure you will get feedback.

You might want to speak to an attorney about this. I'm afraid that this is over my head but an attorney may be able to understand what's going on and advise you as to what you should do.

When my son's PSR (aka PSI/Pre-Sentence Investigation) Investigator called me, he spoke to me for more than an hour. He also called my son's biological father and spoke with him for just as long. Welcome CD3. Your question has many different possible answers but is one that none of us can answer with 100% certainty I am sorry to say. However, you will have better luck asking questions related to a CP offense on the LASO forums where there are many others with the same issues and concerns. Good luck and welcome again. J

Hi, I am not a criminal, nor am I judgemental, but I can truly say that you did the right thing by being honest hun. Don't worry about the comments warning you,.... just keep your chin up and look after yourself right now. You sound like a good person who regrets what they did and now you want to be free. Good for you, the people who are hiding and not owning up to their part of the blame are...

You will be sentenced based on the 1 count of wire fraud in the amount of $1500. As long as that is the only charge brought against you on your PSR. The $62,000 is surely including all fines, fees and the amount of your restitution. Good luck and hopefully you will get only maybe some probation. Quote: Originally Posted by crazyoldmac...

Well, I've dealt with GA, AZ and AL and it was about the same for all... But each state is different, so I'd call my local agency to find out... First of all with programs like food stamps, medicaid, childcare assistance it does not matter if a family has a person in prison. You do not automatically qualify because a member is absent from the home and is incarcerated. Now, with that said, ...
