I think this is definitely an individual decision, but we opted to not do any testing. When I was pg with DS my OB actually recommended against the testing for me. She told me because I was young and there was no history in mine or my DH's family of genetic disorders, I was at an extremely low risk and that the risk of m/c from an amnio was higher than my risk of having a child with downs. Very small variences in how the individual dr.s, nurses, tech's, etc.? do the measuring can make a big difference in "days".? I'm sure it's nothing to worry about!?
