Yeah, we tried Ikea (via the website - never been to the store), but all of the ones that seemed big enough had *closed* storage. So, it's like they were little ovens for cooking your receivers and xbox's.

I can't vouch for lasting quality on a Vizio. We do have a 32" model, but we've only had it about nine months. The only quirky thing it does, that I haven't been able see a pattern to is the TV will freeze; you have to unplug the set to get it to reset. One other time it took like forty five minutes to scan channels, but that turned out to be Comcast. One of buddies got a 42" Vizio about four or five years...

Woundup, but their picture is unparalleled! Plus they are quite a bit cheaper now than they were a year ago!

Congrats Crank! Shibumi I still have the Panny AE900 I bought from Jon sitting in my closet. The new bulb only has 400 hours on it.

I am with Jon. I have read too many bad things about Vizio. Samsung's TVs are really really good. I am finishing my basement right now and it will be another Samsung down there when I am done unless I decide to go with a DLP projector with 100" Screen.

So I took the advice of a few posts on the site and ended up with a Samsung P50B550 plasma. All I can say is wow! I used the free calibration DVD on AVS (great resource) to get the contrast down to a reasonable 49, lowered brightness as well, and the color was actually pretty close (had my Avia filters). What a great TV. Little paranoid about burn in but so far it has been great! ...

no biggie on the non-HD video input/output on the receiver. I have a Denon 3805 and I don't use it's component stuff; not enough inputs, so I just use a component video/toslink switch. The Toslink out goes into the reciever, and the video to the TV. Well, as for the remote, you could try calling Onkyo, but it'll probably cost a pretty penny. There are sites/companies like 1-800-remote that...

Its my understanding you can replace it yourself. Look for a door or lid on the back. (yep, I just check and its in your manual in Appendix C. Lamp model # 915P049010 Easy to change-hard to pay for)

hopefully I didn't do too many grammar errors. I only did a cursory proof read, and I was a bit tired when I wrote it. Overall, I still think Roku Media player is a better deal when add in the high definition content available, amazon video on demand, and Major League Baseball. Plus they still have MediaFly, Revision3 podcast, Flickr, and Pandora, and the rumored Youtube.

My understanding burn-in is not much of an issue anymore. I think when the day comes somewhere down the street I'll go plasma next. Although I'm sure super duper 10800p TV's will be out by then.
