I think that as the independent party forms itself it will tend to be a little more conservative and that the "Republican Party" will be attempting to get into their tent. If they play it right the independents will "check" the Republicans at the door (flap) and only allow in those that will help fight corruption from BOTH sides.

In Australia you vote for your local candidates. Whichever party gets the most votes is the party in charge. Then they vote for their leader. No charisma needed. Their leader could be as boring as a rock. Thing is they have to perform. Also all a politicians meetings are posted so people know what they are doing. And guess what? They work at accomplishing things. Amazing ain't it? And look who's economy and healthcare and retirments...

The powers that be will never admit that political correctness is to blame here. The high ranking military officer's don't want to jeopardize their careers. The politicians that have forced these PC changes are just as much to blame as the shooter is, but again you'll never get them to admit it.
