First, I agree with Kizzume - nuclear power is the way to go until we find economically and environmentally feasible ways of using solar, geothermal, and other energy sources. As far as the tree hugger opposition to this - there is an advantage in vehemently opposing something like this - the opposition forces the advocates to make damn sure that it will be safe - something that (given human nature) won't be given anywhere near the kind...

I have posted this on other forums as well and I used in in my arguments about giving the 9/11 families money. I was appalled when Bush decided to hand money out like that. There was no reason for it. Anyway, good post!

Davy Crockett vs. Welfare
Published (2009-11-06 15:20:00)
This is a bit long, but a great read: Quote: Davy Crockett vs. Welfare From The Life of Colonel David Crockett, by Edward S. Ellis (Philadelphia: Porter & Coates, 1884) Crockett was then the lion of Washington. I was a great admirer of his character, and, having several friends who were intimate with him, I found no difficulty in making his acquaintance. I was fascinated with him, and he seemed to take a fancy to me. I was one day in...

I have never considered myself to be a religious person, so I will not say that I think one person's beliefs are superior or "more right" than another's. I don't know one way or another and suspect that most religions have some things right and some things wrong. However, I am frustrated over the loss of morals in this country. It seems to me that regardless of your religious beliefs (or ...

The Dems will spin it - minimize it. The Dem faithful will defend it under free speech (which I agree with even though I think it's contemptible). The Repubs will add it to their list of reasons why Obama isn't a real American. And that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

The problem with your threads redd is that you get to the meat of the matter succinctly and frequently leave nothing more to be said. This one is a fine example of that. You said it rightly, clearly, succinctly. I agree.
