Yeah, I did watch the video, it was the best I've seen, very informative. Was just curious to hear some feedback from graduates. If I end up there I'll have to keep an eye out for you. Good luck in your ventures as well.

Never read the "Saddlebag Decision" before, although it was an interesting read. For what it's worth, I don't disagree with the Pruitt decision and have read that case before. Although, he was out of the vehicle after the accident. I would be interested to see how it would play out in the court system if someone were charged with having a concealed firearm in a locked glove box.

I don't know that Pruitt has any bearing here: "Pruitt further asserts that the particular facts in this case support his contention that the pistol was not readily accessible to him and, thus, distinguish the present case from the cases cited by the Court of Appeals where weapons also were concealed within vehicles. See, e.g., Leith, 17 Va. App. at 621, 440 S.E.2d at 153 (during traffic stop, driver voluntarily advised officer...

Hey smm,
I did my ride along with them back in September (with an officer I actually met through here). We did the Broad Street/Short Pump area so there wasn't much action at all. Good group of officers. They don't really take much crap from people. However, with Henrico, I've had bad experiences with some of them. The ride along was the only good experience I have had, besides meeting with ...

We have a very active PBA. If you plan to stay here until retirement, you'd
be a fool not to join. They take about 100 a year out of my check, and
after 20 years, they will pay you somewhere on the order of 500 a month for
life, in addition to your regular pension, social security, etc. And that
figure is adjusted upward on a fairly regular basis.

It's a pretty standard test. Reading comprehension, spelling/grammar, and being able to answer questions in complete sentences regarding an incident report form. I took it back in February and if my memory serves me correct you have to achieve at least 80% on each section. Best of luck to you! I start there tomorrow morning

Loaded in the glove box is not okay if you don't have a recognized carry permit. Doesn't look like VA recognizes GA. Technically the only way you would be able to carry it about your person is openly carrying it, which is legal here. While technically legal, I wouldn't recommend openly carrying though depending on what area of Virginia you are traveling through if stopped.

The last information that was passed in an internal memo was that all
classes had been postponed until January of 2011. That is a very long way
away. Things could change for the better or worse depending on what is a
priority for Bob Mcdonnel when he takes office. With that said however, he
may want to do certain things to help out VSP but may have his hands tied
due to budget problems. I have my...

FFX Co is very friendly to those testing from out of state. They were happy to reaarange things to minimize my trips out here.
However, the process took me 13 months from app to offer and that was when the agency was in better financial shape than it is now.
