In very general terms, joining the Air Force will be considerably easier than going to work with a LE agency, straight out of college. In fact, in your situation, I would lean toward the Air Force option. A successful tour of duty in the Armed Forces can assist you in your later LE efforts. At this point in your life, I wouldn't be too concerned about a "job history". These are important, but so is obtaining your degree....

How old are you now? Delivery of a controlled substance....is just that. You made a delivery. A lot depends on the substance you delivered. If the pain medication fell into the controlled subtance schedule you will have to do some explaining.... a lot of explaining. I usually add 5 to what somebody tells me. So in your case I would add 5 to your 1 delivery and that MIGHT be more like it. You know......how much have you had to drink.....2...

It wont be easy for you to get a job. I know people have got kicked out of hiring processes for what you have admitted to.

BI's take longer than you would think. Also keep in mind that this is a smaller agency and the person doing your investigation may be juggling other duties as well. However, calling them won't hurt anything, in fact since it has been nearly 1 month, it might be a good thing to check.

If the first thing you say is "should I mention this", then I don't need to read any further. Yes you do. If you don't and they find out, then you are withholding something and will probably be DQ'ed. If you have a question as to whether you should put something on an app, then put it. More information is better. Less information or "omitting" information will get you nowhere. Anyway, ...

In this job market, if you want a career in LE, you might want to go with the one who will hire you. Putting yourself through an academy is going to cost $$$, right? That $$$ might be needed to relocate if you were to be hired by an agency who pays you to go through an academy. Going through the BP academy will mean a paycheck, rather than you paying for training. Working for ...
