Personally, if it doesn't interfere with the visibility of the plate information I don't think it is a big deal and I wouldn't stroke anyone for it. But technically speaking, due to the fact that Florida plates have a pre-determined area for the decal it may be according to F.S. 320.061.

Just going to play devil's advocate, but I believe FHP has a written policy that says anytime they respond to a crash, the person at fault gets a UTC no ifs, ands, or buts. I know they get alot of crap from their supervisors if they don't write a UTC for a driver found at fault.

FHP is going through a bad time with budget. Last I heard from an FHP dispatcher they were going to be getting rid of even more dispatchers. They also don't just handle dispatching. They handle the emergency call boxes, they handle 911, they handle regular dispatching, and like one or two more things she said. I would go somewhere else until the budget settles down, just my opinion.

I could sooo answer this... but... its too long winded for me to want to try.- and also there is alot of 'random variables' involved. Ive done the trip from near Jax to Tampa about a dozen times in the past couple years- and Ive seen any number from 0 to so many I felt I was being watched. Some days theres more shifts out, some days people dont feel like wrecking as much, and some days they ...

There aren't any lights on it, unless they're in the grill. Is this a friend of yours that owns an old CV? It could be one of MANY agencies in the State of FL. There are 67 counties, and in those there are many Police Departments. I'm sure more than one uses that color of blue.

I think it depends on the departments you want to apply to. I've seen a few requiring the 92 hour course. I think FDLE requires a two week EOT before being able to take the state exam... but it's been a while since I looked into it...
