23 vs. 27 vs. M&P 40C?

The compact M&Ps will accept the full size magazines. I am fat enough and dress loose floppy gangsta enough that the smaller gun is not needed.

Nightforce vs Leupold vs ?

Leupolds are extremely over priced when you compare them to the competition. Stay away from the 50mm unless you are going to be doing a lot of low-light shooting. I would suggest going with the Nightforce. I don't think you will be disappointed with it. A USO SN-3 1.8-10x would be an excellent choice if you could swallow the price. If you are going to run that thing in 3-gun I hope you have some upper body strength. The JAC is not exactly...

I should know this...I thought it was the Glock 23. I used to work with DSS (Edit: I wasn't DSS) and was getting recruited by them a while back. Can't remember for sure. I know they used to carry Sigs, and I think they did make the Glock switch like the FBI. I'm not 100% sure though.

im pretty sure they can because their policy allows the 9mm, 40, and 45 caliber rounds; and the p229 or p226 (what i know they can carry) only have options for 9mm and 40 cal. (and .357sig).

If you carry an M&P on duty, carry one off duty.
You can carry a full size mag as a reload.
Since both the Glock and M&P are point and shoot, the manual of arms is the same, but the triggers are different.

Which light?
Safariland shows to have a 6360 holster available for the P229R w/ Streamlight TLR-1, Surefire X300/X200, and Insight SSL-1 or M3.
6360-7442 is the first parts of the model number.

They are great guns. Wish I had kept mine. It was a much better back up/off
duty than my Sig P232. Oh well, live and learn.

You're not supporting the gun enough with your left hand. The recoil can be pushing the gun left because its the only direction it can go since you're gripping it strong enough with your right hand.
Just a thought. I had that problem in the academy at first, and that turned out to be my problem.

The way Mossberg mounts their barrel it would take a new barrel and a new longer magazine tube threaded into the receiver, easier/cheaper to buy a whole new gun. With Remington guns it's a matter of screwing on a magazine tube extension and perhaps a longer magazine spring.
If you can find an old Knox magazine conversion kit then you would have 6 rnd magazines or 10rnd drums, you will not ...

I personally have a Mossberg 500 with two barrels. One for wing shooting and the other is a rifled slug barrel with bushnell scope. The rifled barrel came as a package with the scope already boresighted. A few shots at the range and it was ready for action. I don't think you can gor wrong with a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 for what you're looking for. Both have been proven performers for ...

So you want to buy an AR-15, huh? Well, you came to the right place.
INTRO
Let me guess, you have seen a few models in your local store, you have seen some ads in the gun rags, and a "guy" you know thinks his rifle is "the best." And now you need some help separating the wheat from the chaff, and have come here to find out what is best for you. Am I close?
I am going to ...

Yeah, Im an avid PC gamer who happens to own and XBOX. I loved MW on PC and
thought it was infinitely better than the 360 version. Infinity Ward really
let us down this time. Glad I didn't waste my money on the PC version
though.

.380 ACP I'm guessing, though . 38 Special, .357 Mag and .357 SIG are all only a bit heavier than that. I'm sure I'm missing a few options as well.
