I do not approve of these programs. I think they encourage criminals to go out and steal guns.

I hope you are right LA Copper. Your dept has had a tough run of things over the years. The poor economy should help you in getting good people but things will turn around and the starting pay will have to go back up and above what it was before to keep good people interested. I wish you and your fellow officers all the luck in the world. You certainly need it with the political leadership (lack of rather) in your town. Stay safe.

The verdict is going to be huge. If they lose they will riot in violent protest. Whereas if they win they'll riot in celabration. Either way their neighborhoods get torched and we get tons of OT.

I agree on the 22107 regardless of the turn signal being on or off. The motorist has the obligation to turn when safe. If there were no independent witnesses I would have looked hard for evidence that would back up the bicylists story to ensure he didn't do something goofy like jump off the curb or travel the wrong way on the side street and turn the corner riding against traffic.

It could never hurt. Especially in this economy. All depts would love to cut out any expense they can. If they can avoid paying someone to go to the academy, they're happy. It also shows some real commitment. Rio Hondo is a good academy. Of course it changed since I went there centuries ago. Just remember, if you go to Rio Hondo and get hired by LAPD, you will have to go through their ...
