There is only one time I can recall being recognized or at least spotted as LEO. My family and I were at the movies and it had just finished. We were all walking out in the lobby toward the exits when I see a guy giving me the look. I just keep on walking as if nothing happened and if he wanted to start something, so be it. Fortunately he didn't do anything.

We drive methane fueled patrol units. We have a pot of chili going at all times in the pd. Hoses in our azzes, so when a hot call comes in we just run out, stick the hose in the tank and let er rip. We get about 10 miles per fart. We stink at handling the calls when we get there though. Pursuits are a b*tch, you know, with all that beer and tacos.

Good for you. I worked a major accident long ago where four really good kids were ejected and killed from the rear seat of a vehicle. None were wearing a seat belt. The two up front were wearing it and survived with non life threatening injuries. It was a rainy day, the driver lost control and slid sideways into a SUV traveling in the opposite, ejecting all four in the back seat.
So it...

1. When you get pulled over, say "What's wrong, ossifer? There's no blood in my alcohol"
2. When they ask why you were speeding, tell them you wanted to race.
3. When they talk to you, ...

My state law doesn't have an actual distance. Just have to drive with due
regard for speed and traffic. One car length isn't enough.

Being a former police explorer means what, exactly? One video is 3 minutes long, the other 5. What is your question for us? You were arrested, it appears, for having the OC spray. I don't know who you are, where you are in the video, who's voice is who's...what is your question and why is the video stamped not for release? What exactly is the point in all this?
You DO realize that...

Pros and cons of being a cop:
There have been a bunch of questions about people who are on the fence about LE work. They ask us what we think, sometimes ignore us, or argue about what we think.
Here is a Con:
If you are a cop, you might get shot in the head while sitting in your car teaching someone how to do a simple traffic stop...

I dont live in the city I work in and will never go there for leisure. Me and my family went once and my wife wanted to go into a local pawn shop to look at DVDs. We spent maybe 10 minutes there and after we walked out the door, my wife tells me that half the people in line to pawn junk (most likely stolen) were whispering about how I was a cop. I dont see how other officers do it, living in ...

IF, and this is a big IF, it happened as you say. I'd say a telephone call to the station, and a conversation with the Patrol Supervisor or the officers Supervisor is in order. If you don't care enough to do that, then why post about it on here?
In hindsight, you should have told him to go ahead and arrest you. You'd have owned the city after the civil suit.

Inregards to the relation of a CJ degree and Law Enforcement... None.
To be cop, a CJ degree does nothing for you. It doesn't hurt having it though... Someday it could come in handy. I say get all the degrees and education you can.

CJ or AOJ teachers that are NOT retired or current coppers are bitter
because they couldn't get hired for one reason or another....so they gripe,
complain, and try to pass that along to their students.
