Probably some confusion in translation. TeleAtlas is Dutch. Ask a Flemish speaker to pronounce "Aughton" !!

Yes, Google has terminated their contract with TeleAtlas for North American map data. This morning it was also reported (at GPSBusiness), that TomTom TeleAtlas will soon be losing the European map contract as well.
