Welcome to the world of PlayStation but I have to say, you didn't make a very good choice on your PSN ID.

Enjoy. good idea. i would just use the cheaper slims hard drive for the time being and replace it when you need to. it could be a while until you need a newer one and when that time comes, the hard drives will probably be cheaper than they are now, or they will be bigger capacity than what you can currently get.

Really, Who cares about trophies that much?? If only they did something usefull and rewarding (like skill points in some of the games) I'd probably look at them. But really.. Trophies are only there so you can "try" to compare yourself to others and say "Woohoo, I'm better than you! I have more trophies!!" well, that's not really true. Some players have less trophies than others and they...

It's because the more complex systems get, the more parts there are to break/stop...

Doppelgangergang wrote: Hm. My best guess is if you both are trying to play the same game, the two PS3s will try to open ports necessary for other online players to connect to you. Unfortunately, if you are sharing only one internet connection, there will be only one set of ports available and the PS3's can't share them. So one PS3 might get a port while another may not get a port or both get no ports and others can't connect...

the slim doesn't have side vents. it barely has front ones the back is nothing but one big vent. except where the plugs go. anyways to the op get it on something higher up. carpet is a heat magnet plus static. and being so low it could suck in dirt, hair, dead skin anything that falls off of a body, animal, or your cloths. your looking to be ps3 less soon aren't you? i couldn't deal with not having one for 24hours when mine...

Both models allow you to swap out the HDD. It's up to you.

"good"? no. You will not experience any benefit from this. I dont think its harmful to leave a disc in the PS3 as long as the PS3 is off. You wouldn't want to leave a disc in there for days/weeks while the ps3 is on though, that would be silly. Just try to use common sense if you can, I know it can be tough sometimes.

Buy an extended warranty, then it won't matter what model you buy. Both models are prone to problems.

It really depends on your budget and needs... You should be able to get a decent 32" 720p compatible (since most games run at that resolution anyways) TV for around $400 and for example a good 22-24" 1080p monitor is gonna cost about $200. Of course other than having a larger screen, the TV most likely has a huge advantage on sound. However, monitors usually take the cake on picture ...

My my, you're a clever one aren't you with the rudimentry disguise... Sarcasm, of course. Most likely an issue between your PS3 and your Router. Try turning UPnP off on your router, if it supports it to begin with. I used to have the same issue, only activity on my PS3 would cause my PC's connection to screw up. Turning UPnP off fixed it.

Strange issue. The digital optical is being connected to the same receiver in both scenarios?

Game Data Utility. Games like MGS4, GTA4, ect have game installs. those 2 are 4GB. Also, DLC, music, videos, and photos.

To answer your question, Sony has proven that they will never admit they have a problem. They make a great system but it has problems that they won't stand behind. They would rather make another $150 a console as long as people keep buying them.
