The 25% hurts, I'm not going to lie. But for me it's a bearable pain. It's just the combo of the two I don't think I can take. _________________ "And now I'm growing old disgracefully" Xanaxx FPII

chemical peel and tanning when done

You do not lose the ability to tan after TCA like you do with a phenol peel . However, I have read that the sun should be avoided for a few months as the melanocytes may not produce color in the same way and you might get blotches of hyperpigmentation. Really I think one should be "done" with the sun before they ever contemplate a peel. The damage accumulated will at the very least negate the results of the peel.

You mentioned your cosmetic surgeon wasn't helpful with answering your questions about the procedure. If this is the case, I would make a list of specific questions you have and have them answered or find someone else to do the procedure who will listen to you and answer all of your questions. I haven't heard much about a Power Peel -- the microderm immediately followed by a chemical peel. I did talk to an Esthetician recently who...

Rosie, If you decide to do a light peel series you can use you BP after you have completed the peeling/flacking. You won't need to use it during the week of the peel. Once your skin recovers you may resume your regular skincare routine. However, remember you are removing old l ayer s thus allowing new layers to rise closer to the surface. If you have clogged pores this will release them from their occluded pore. You will probably have...

Thanks so much for posting your experience...that sounds very much like my 10% TCA experience. I think I also will wait until after the holidays for my next TCA...we'll have to keep in touch so we can be in misery together again! Note to self...have a scotch on the rocks before next TCA peel .

OK thanks for the help. I don't have any postules or anything, just scar ring. I just did a glycolic 50% last night, and will probably try to do them once a week and see how that goes. I have been considering getting a Jessner s though instead of starting back on the TCA . Should the Jessner's be good for scarring too?

Hi everyone, I have been on the nu-derm obagi system for 10 weeks and I tolerate it very well - however - I did expect more out of it. The recommendation I get from my dr. is to do a course of peel s at a very high expense. Before I started the obagi stuff - she actually did a Jessner peel on me - and had minor flaking. By the way - I am fighting Melasma. Since you guys are so ...

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. I searched through a multitude of post and couldn't find an answer. Long time lurker;-) Great site. I did a TCA peel yesterday, it did NOT frost. Can I repeat the process before the six weeks is up? I did you a hydroxy cream as was suggested two weeks before. However since the top l ayer of my skin ...

I think I'm ready for my next combo peel . I just haven't decided which route to take. I KNOW I will not be doing a Jessner 's/25% TCA since the mere thought of it makes me want to pass out. Anybody had any success with a certain combo? _________________ "And now I'm growing old disgracefully" Xanaxx FPII

Well, my first glycolic peel seemed to be TOO STRONG. A huge piece of rugburn flaked near my chin and sadly, I still have a dark pink mark that I hope and pray will fade someday... I also got twin sets of SCABS down my smile line area! EEEEK! But then after all that facial drama, when it was time for peel two, the results were... TOO LIGHT! My smile line area was a bit tender for a ...

The bright pink skin is what you want!!! The pinkness should fade in about a week or so. My last 25% I had this spot right above my eye brow that frosted almost instantly. It was pink for about a week and then faded. Sounds to me like you got a pretty good peel and should come out of it ok. I would think about diluting to a lesser strength. I would email Julie at OSS and ask her ...

I'm on day 7 from a 10%, 3 l ayer , TCA peel , and it looks like it will be a few more days before all the flaking/peeling is gone. I'm thinking this will be it until after the first of the year as far as TCA goes, because I hope to enjoy the holidays. I'm planning to do a few more light TCAs after the holidays, but in the meantime want to keep up the progress. So, my question is what ...

the club? If so, that's kind of counter-productive in that it doesn't help those who need help. And if that's the case, why are you here? I read somewhere on this forum that that is the case. Not my words, someone elses. I guess I won't be getting any help from any of you ladies.

I did a 40% glycolic once a week for 3 weeks, increasing the time with each peel . After the second peel, I looked like a blotchy drunk! The fourth week I was out of town, so I skipped a week. Thats when the compliments started. The texture of my skin is remakably improved, and I think that there has been some reduction in fine lines, and a noticeable reduction in the nasal...

I did a 25% tca (OSS) spot test on my arm and chest.I did 3 and 2 l ayer s respectively and it frosted. It peel ed finally after day 10..today.No results.Looks exactly the same-not even pink.I prepped for around a month.Granted I have 60 year old sun-damaged skin but at least expected a slight change. So guess I won't be doing those areas.Any ideas?

Hi all, I have been reading all of the helpful information you have provided. I think it was Suzanne who mention alpha beta acids, so I went to OSS to review. Currently I am using 55% lactic once or twice a week. and recently I did a few l ayer s of 8% tca with no problem. I am fighting hyperpigmentation. and I am a fitzpatrick 4 or 5. I was about to bump up to 12.5% tca, when I read ...
