thats a very good price, even for parts. the LUVs 81/82 had a N\A isuzu C223 engine, and a old MSG trans. id bet thats the older MSG trans made 81/85 with the weeker barings. a good trans up-grade for that engine is a trans from a 86/95 2.3L powerd 2WD pup/truck, but you "need" the bell housing off the old trans or your in deep DO DO.

I like the 1st gen Pups for some reason. An extended cab 4x is getting to be a pretty rare find. That one looks nice. The high top is a bit goofy looking but does give some good headroom.
