Hello ............Thanks to all who gave suggestions to my problem, which has now resolved itself. The computer tower had been away for repair/ replacement of a faulty CD drive. The technician (bless him) had replaced the CD drive with a DVD drive. That was the problem. I was putting CD's into the tray. Now that I am putting DVD's into the tray, no problem. I had forgotten that I had aired my problem on this forum till today, when I...

Which RAW Converter do you use?...

I use NX2 for my Nikon files, and ACR through CS3 for my Finepix RAF files if I ever need it. I have tried quite a few, including Bibble, Capture 4, for the .raf, but found Silkypix to be the best. There is no real support for the raf files outside Fuji. Silypix has a different file system, but it did produce some nice results. I didn't buy it though, just tested the trial version. The out of camera jpeg's from the S5 Pro are really...

Curious to know if anybody has any info or resources on this one as I tend to donate time to shoot newborns, and their eyes are often a little wonky

In January 2007 we started a thread and poll ( here ) inviting members to vote for which RAW converter(s) they use, and to comment on them. There have been a few developments over the last year which meant that the software list in the poll needed updating, so we thought we'd start a new thread with a revised list. This is it! Please take part in the poll again, even if you did last year's - you...

There is a school of thought that says that although it is OK to fix blemishes that are not permanent, like a spot or scratch, or remove glasses, to change things that are permanent, like beauty spots, crooked teeth etc is not ethical as it will emphasize the feature in the eyes of the subject and also imply that somehow they are not right.
I would not do it even if I were asked. I think ...

Hello Paul and
Have you made sure windows (I assume you are using windows) and Photoshop have both been updated with the correct RAW plug-ins? Bear in mind that each camera vendor uses their own version of RAW so you need to make sure you have support for your cameras.

More than one way to skin this rabbit.
You could just use the type tool, but this is a bit crude. Doing it on another layer and changing the opacity might be better, but this tutorial by Rob might be what you are looking for.

that is very easy to correct with photoshop since it's on the black and the white, you can use a Channel Mixer Layer.
Open a Channel Mixer Layer click on Monochrome (this will turn the Image to B&W)
Go to the layers Palette and click on the mask and paint back everything but on the blue tinge reduce the opacity and the flow on the Soft Brush, every image is different so you will have ...
