Yeah. I forgot about that. I think I just put it upside down, gripping the nut in the bench vise and then twisted the booster. There wasn't a lot of torque but there was a lot of awkwardness. Now I've got the handy dandy DocFab socket.

The birthday swap

Gettin' there. Couldnt use the drivers side manifold on the pass side as I thought because the motor mount was in the way. Need to get a truck starter tomorrow so I can route the exhaust somehow. Slave cylinder is in the way as well. Started on wiring tonight. Oven cleaner and a pressure washer cleaned up the engine bay real nice.. Got to get moving on the wiring... Got an external fuel pump from a 88-ish bronco to put on the frame....

I edited my first post to clarify that the engine is a 1996 5.7L vortec from a truck (not an LS motor).

Motor pulled on Sunday, split the trans off it and picked up the cruiser and got it to the shop. Starting on pulling the motor tonight from the '40.
Need to get a flywheel for the LT1 as the clutch/flywheel that was in front of the T56 isnt going to work.
Some pics then off to work...

Bill,
For the flywheel and clutch stuff, I went through Georg(orange45) for the AA stuff. It is possible to mix and match for a bit cheaper but I figure I would rather go with someone like AA who 99% of the time won't screw it up
On the bellhousing, you can use any stock SBC bellhousing. Keep in mind, you will be using 5 out of 6 of the holes. I was concerned with this but AA stated it...

420 and 465 have different size front bearing retainer diameters. bellhousings are different, might look the same but the bearing retainer hole on the 465 is bigger. 420 pilot will work fine.
