First get a chilton's Look in the tech section on this site. You have to go to the homepage. You will find the 60 bible which will give you an idea of what you are doing as well. 1. remove brake caliper 2. remove lockout if equiped 3. remove snap rings there are two. 4. remove nut, lockring, nut. You will need special socket 5. grab hub and pull off, rotor will come with it. 6. remove six nuts that hold the spindle on. 7. remove spindle....

moving front axle forward

i moved my front d44 forward 1.5 inches with the ORD zero-rate and i have to make 5 point turns going left. its because the threaded ends of the drag-links are too long. ive been too busy, but my plan is to cut off about 3/4 inch from both to give it more adjustment. the drive shaft does indeed need to be longer. mine had to have about an inch added

again thanks jenks, your advise came in handy. You should have seen it earlier, there wasn't any sanp rings or nuts (that you need the special sockets for) it was all ground down to nothing only the two allen bolts on the caliper were holding on the tire. thanks again

Is it possible it could be a 1500 but that somewhere in the past someone swapped out the 12 bolt and installed a 14 bolt? And that perhaps that's what they meant by saying it's a "2500 HD"? In other words it's a 1500 with heavier duty parts on it or something???? cuz' I don't know.

Very new to the site, but not so new to wheeling/building. I've been debating for over two months on what "truck" I should build up. I'm torn between the 78 Crew Cab and the 86 Suburban, both in great running order, ready to be overbuilt. I'm thinking in the area of: -26" lift, 20" springs & 6" drop shackles/hangers -2.5T Rocks -16.00r20 (52.9") Michelin XZL's -then all the boring ...

Considering an exo cage... Is there something wrong with running a bar from each side of the outside edge of the front bumper to the top of the roof? It would be similar to those cables you see on land rovers for pushing up branches. Like this- http://www.bushcables.com/resources/...cables+003. jpg but would be a full-on tube. I would plan on driving this on roads/highways as well.. so I ...

I'm about to get my 35x14.5" boggers on 8" rims. i did this on purpose so I wouldn't have to worry about airing down and losing a bead. Currently, boggers are mounted on 15x12 Alcoa rims. Anyone else ever done this, anything bad I should watch out for, balancing wise? I'll have pics of before and after.
