I'd like to see an option that works for me that doesn't feel like a nasty compromise in one area or another. Lots of options exist for guys running big axles and mating it to Toyota running gear, but what about the other way around? I have a Chevy 205, but Toy axles. With the 205 I can go 1310 front and rear or 1310 rear/flange front with the parts I have available. I'd like to keep things as replaceable as possible. Sure,...

what horsepower is a 502 block...
Published (2009-11-09 23:16:00)
1000hp should be an ok limit.. cast iron main caps might not like more. Its a siamesed bore block, so its reasonably structurally sound. if you use good fasteners to hold things together, you will be miles ahead. Small blocks generally dont do well over 650 hp with stock components, and big blocks suffer from some issues bulkhead thickness as well. An aftermarket block from Dart is a great insurance policy, as is a Bowtie block, but the cost...

Lock-right in a 12 bolt.
Published (2009-11-10 11:41:00)
I ran a Lock Right in a 12 bolt with 4 spd and 38" TSL. Never had a problem out of the locker. They used to be extremely well made for the money. Richmond gear owns them now and I was not as impressed (had some mis-machined parts/missing parts) but once I finally got the parts I needed it worked great for many miles. I have owned 4 of these, never broken one

I did the same mods to my pump off of west texas offroad site and the pump works real good, i only went a drill size larger tho. I have a 2x8 ram, 3/8 x 48 hoses , a cap from ems and the other cap tapped. Seems to work good but it works much better with ams oil syn fluid, mine doesnt work to full potential until it runs at 1000 rpms. Check the drill size you used and did you remove the shim ...

if you get a degree wheel you can install it in a block and roll it around and pick up all the info too.
you can also use a mic to figure out the lifts.
measure the lobe and the base then subtract them.
peak is 1.500"
base width is 1.250"
= lift of .250"
lift x rocker ratio [1.5:1]
.250" x 1.5 = overall advertized lift of .375"
besure to do both the intake and ...

I think I'm going to go with 3.0 ballistic joints on the bottom and 7/8's ruffstuff specialties heims up top.
With the tabs for the link mounts plus the joints my totals for each site will be
Ballistic 170
Ruffstuff 130
This leaves about 200 dollars to do everything else, basically just truss steel, Link material, coils and mounts.
I should be able to get the DOM for the links for ...

FYI: most of the below is private land and owner was our trailguide.
Attention Getter: fairly steep straight hill that's not too hard until you get right to the top and there is this rock to climb.

depends on what kind of shakle you want to run. the ORD flip you pretty much have to run the shakles they sell. diy and some others of the same design you would run a 4.5" shakle to keep it 4" of lift. I have a black widow performance shakle flip with diy4x 4.5" cross tied shakles. I am in the process of rebuilding my blazer after a nasty accident ( got rear ended by a honda civic) so i cant ...

I build most of every thing I can, but I would take a look at ORDs website (which I am sure you have seen), most of the popular stuff is sold there. (however pricey it may be)

yeah just pull off the bed, and scrap the whole front clip. Then just don't really turn so they don't hit the cab, and you will be just fine.

For tires and wheels, we went with 38x15.50x20 Mickey Thompson MTZs and a set of American racing cannon wheels.
As for the drive train, we went for a 468 with an extreme 4x4 comp cam, edelbrock carb, and heddman headers. Turbo 400 tranny and an np-205 transfer case.
We cleaned it all up and here is how she sits now.
The plan is to make the 66 body fit...
