I give RIM a lot of credit for originally setting the standard so high. The question of the moment is what happened to them? Tons of new devices, all awaiting the users to update the buggy OS's, and build quality that is no where near as good as just a year or two ago. Hello RIM? Anybody home?

When I saw a friend using an iPhone instead of her 8310, I was surprised. She said her trackball kept falling out of her 8310 and that now she had lost the ring. "Easy fix!", said I, but upon closer examination, I found that the reason a new trackball would not stay is that the plastic assembly for the ring is broken! I can find numerous threads on replacing trackballs (and have replaced several trackballs too), but what...

^^YES, it is! Lol Looks like that phone is used as a projectile. Only fix as AZ said is to get a new housing no ifs or buts about it. Or better yet send me the phone and I'll fix it for myself. Get a trackpad bb. They're the best thing next to the storm I guess. Rather than dealing with those damn annoying trackballs. Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.14912/1186; U; en) Presto/2.2.0

I'm having this same issue with a refurbed 8120 and 2 USB ports on a new laptop. It will charge fine with DM open for about 10 or so seconds then lose the connection. I have rebooted the PC and phone. This has happened before and I've been able to solve the problem with rebooting the phone and PC but this time it's being persistent. Yikes! I would suggest a new housing. While you're at it have it customed all blacked out or whatever color your friend may desire. Don't go any further; just get the new housing which will include the trackball . Be sure it does though. Good luck

There is a free app called abc amber that will allow you to covert a backup of your info which would be in an .ipd file to the format of your choice, or put them transfer them to outlook. Never used it myself but have heard it works....worth a look. I'm sure there are several ways to do this, hopefully this helps

Check to make sure that the icon isn't hidden. On the home page click on menu key> show all and look again. If you're sure it still isn't showing try a different theme and see if that helps.
