Some people are born teachers - can't help it. My neighbors' daughter moved back in with them after a nasty divorce and she has daughters that are 4 and 6. When we visit each other, I teach them life sciences (what birds and animals live here, which birds can survive Maine winters, how beneficial and pest insects live here and can be controlled, etc). The younger girl loves rocks, and I teach her the names of the minerals in the...

Whether or not there is a connection between obesity and high fructose corn sweetener is still being debated but a lot of food manufactures are replacing it with regular sugar. Wouldn't replacing it with an equal amount of sugar do nothing?

We're having a colder than normal spring also. The stores have been advertsing their spring annuals for a month now and they're all dead due to several really hard freezes. The nurseries are suffering, no business.
I can't wait for spring to get here! I'm going to try spring onions again when it gets warm enough.

Governments should intervene by making nutrition and health topics mandatory in schools. We teach reading and writing in schools too, we don't say that everyone can learn to read and write themselves and then blame the inevitable high illiteracy rate on lazy parents/children who refuse to teach themselves to read and write.

I use both Fedora (personal box) and Redhat (server). I have used some version of Redhat since 2000 or so, which is why I don't try some of the newer, fancier distros out there. I am comfortable with Fedora and don't feel like switching. :D

Um, pretty much all the product reviews on the kindle 2 tell you that it isn't good for pdfs. Yeah, you can convert it, and maybe okay in a pinch, but it's not what it's meant for. I don't really think that it'll ever be a good format for things needed for studying. Pleasure reading, sure, but studying, no. You need too many pages and books side by side for that to ever work well. With a ...
