BillyT: Nice to see you posting about mini black holes. However, I do want your readers to know that magnetic monopoles are almost certainly real. It is to be noted that in 1975 I discovered the tracks of a novel particle on a balloon-borne cosmic ray detector. "Evidence for Detection of a Moving Magnetic Monopole", Price et al., Physical Review Letters, August 25, 1975, Volume 35, Number...

DisplayAds("Right1"); The "10th Planet" is locked in resonance with Neptune. 2003 UB313 is in a 17:5 resonance with Neptune. I've never seen a number as high as 17 be part of a resonance before . 2005 FY9 is in an 11:6 resonance with Neptune. Here's a page I made illustrating the resonances: http://www.orbitsimulator.com/gravit...es/newtno.h tml

DisplayAds("Right1"); Greetings to you all. It's more than just a bit over my head. I am more here as an observer, but I do have a few questions. I was recently sent a link to a website that is based around an electrical model for the universe. It seems logical. Am I retarded? You don't have to be mean about it. Extrapolating from what I have read,...

SpaceTiger is correct, the catalog entries are not bolometric, they are Johnson band magnitudes. To convert absolute magnitude [Mv] to bolometric magnitude, you need to know the bolometric correction [BC] factor - which is approximately 1.01 for Sirius B [solar BC is about -0.07]. The conversion formula is pretty simple: M(bol) = Mv + BC.

DisplayAds("Right1"); Obivously, the direction of the rotation of a Spiral Galaxy depends on the vantage point from which you look at it. From Earth, do all Spiral Galaxies rotate in the same direction? Or, because the universe is so vast, the rotation direction is irrelevant and has morre to do with prior collisions?

DisplayAds("Right1"); I thought a lot,but that was in vain. Neutron stars do contain 10%-20% electrons, protons compensating beta decay thus giving it an e.m field around. If they do so,are magnetars also having same proportions of electrons and protoins.

I thought that this thread had been closed. Oh well. I've written an improved procedure. The main improvements are: 1. A more straightforward calculation of the true anomaly at the non-apsidal endpoint of the intended trajectory (i.e., either departure or arrival). In my previous paper on this subject, I missed the obvious fact that this angle can be found quite earlier in the ...

It is an interesting article...they theorize that the Hawking evaporation of PBHs will eventually lead to the formation of antideuterium nuclei and do a first computation of the antideuteron flux. The research I mentioned proposes that PBHs formed stable gravitational bound states called Holeums post-Big Bang - which do not evaporate. These holeums have only the gravitational interaction, ...

If the core is off-center, in the direction towards the Moon, then it completes only one orbit per month, while the Earth around it revolves once a day. Applying relativity, this means that the core is a solid metal ball in the fluid mantle, going around in a little circle once every 24 hours. It should push a bow-wave which ought to hit the bottom of the crust once a day. Siesmometers should...
