a friend has booked a hotel for me..its near carefoure.......1700 a nite.... havent a clue of the name.......as the phone line wasnt to hot this morning...but its supposed to be very nice.great rooms and has a pool.....

If you can't get in at SB or one of your usual haunts on SSS....you could always look at Chalemporn, UI Sabai or Ferb guesthouses on Banzaan kelly's just up around the corner on Nanai is also a good deal usually

I've just been there for 5 weeks. Stayed here Somerset which is right next to Tokyo Tower and 10 minute walk to Roppongi. Expensive though as most things are in Tokyo. 500,000 Yen for a month...but then someone else was paying :-)
Can't help with guesthouses. Suggest you google " guest house tokyo". Doesn't matter where you stay in Tokyo the Subway is excellent but it is the biggest city in...

Returned to Australia Thursday 21st May having stayed at the Summer Breeze
Hotel for six nights. Great location, very clean rooms and great $$$ value.
Staff were very friendly and attentive and I would highly recommend this
hotel for single males or couples. Fairly quiet considering the location.
Jungceylon and Bangala Rd only a 100m walk. The best Tom Yung Goong soup
Ive ever tasted.

I think for that money you should take your chances. Unless the plane actually crashes then it's going to be VFM.
Only thing is you're going to have to overnight in BKK on the way back cos of the early flight time.
