Don't know what to say about the second example but in the first, I'm guessing they hired a friend who had happened to take a few nice pictures. Makes me wonder how much he got paid.

My wife and I had my mom and dad and our two boys with the grand kids over. I am very thankful that they all came and that they live close enough to make this possible. Getting the family together is what makes Thanksgiving for us, Jeff

Is anyone else on here a concert photographer? Taken in Tallahassee, FL. The band is called Saosin and finally, one of the girlfriend/baby mama Post yours! Or let me know what i can do to ...

I've been on vacation for most of the last week and on Thanksgiving I did the annual San Jose Turkey Ride. It's been a busy trip and I have more to share. But for now, you can see photos from the Turkey Ride in my blog: Photo-John's Photo Blog > >

Quiet weekend post-wise, I might as well get this off my chest. It bothers me as a Humble Amateur when I see Professionals doing things for clients that I would never do (on the odd occasions I do things for other people). Am I being too professional as an amateur? Today's example: The local shopping mall has a Santa Claus with photographer who photographs your child. I had to go and ...

okay, I have recently met with some people who were interested in me doing their wedding on June 13th. They liked what they saw but said they had to talk to the groom(I met with the bride and bride's mother) They did not confirm anything as of yet, and I require a $100 deposit to hold the day and they did not do that either. Well, just a couple days ago I was contacted by another couple ...

What do you think about geo tagging your photos? I really don't have any desire to geotag my images. I'm sure the technology will start to show up as a built in feature on digital cameras in the future, but I don't see myself tagging my photos. Is geotagging something you are interested in? Would it be a feature you would look for in a camera in the future? Do you find the information...

B&W images have always been my favorite. My favorite film was Delta Ilford - and I often used a red filter. I could never do anything much with a digital conversion. I think it's workable in Photoshop, but PSElements doesn't have the tools as far as I know. Recently I've seen some excellent b&w images taken with the Panasonic LX3. It has a "dynamic b&w" mode and you can change in-camera ...

Hello everyone, my name is Trish. I currently reside in Puerto Rico (although I am from NC) and have claimed photography as my new found hobby. I am a beginner, working with a Kodak EasyShare C533 Point and Shoot camera.. although I am convinced that my wonderful husband is shelling out for a Nikon D90 or D60 for XMas (or atleast that better be where the $$ in our bank account went ). I just ...

Ten minutes before I had to leave for work! Don't you just hate that? I had enough time to rip the box open, throw it onto the camera and be completely confused! I have the Nikon D60 and was very excited to purchase a new AF Nikkor 50mm F1.8D. I see that for my camera it is in fact NOT auto focus, which will be a real challenge for me! I'm still very excited to try it out this weekend. I don'...

Except a D300!!!! It was ordered today. It is going to drive me crazy knowing it is under the tree, but the lovely and gracious Dawn is adamant that it is going to be wrapped up and put under the tree and I can not have it until Christmas morning. But I know it's on it's way!

Since getting the Nikon D700 full frame I haven't had much of a chance to give it a good test run. Thanksgiving morning I did get it out and shot a few frames in the backyard mostly of frost. Here are a few of the results. All were shot at ISO 400 hand held and with either the 105 or the new 24-120 VR.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all who celebrate this special day. I have so many things - and people - to be grateful for. Let me just say that one of my blessings is the PR community! Most of what I know about photography comes from all the wonderful people at PR. I've been coming here for probably 7-8 years now, and I treasure all the friends I've made during the years. Some of these friends...

This time of year there are a lot of members and visitors wanting to order new camera equipment. My goal is to try and keep you from being suckered in by extra low prices on the Internet and end up getting nothing but problems. I would like to invite all members and visitors to check out the "Camera Dealer feedback Forum" on this site and maybe we can help keep you from getting your Christmas ...
