Similar suggestion here, 5dMKII + 24-105L + 580EXII for the wedding shooting purpose, n maybe top up some more for a 700-200 F4L or F2.8L depending on you.

Do you think Canon 5D MkII is really worth that money? > Its actually too cheap, even the 1Ds3 is way too cheap compared to what it can do. What is the reasonable price tag for Canon 5D MkII do you think? > RM18k or so would be good . . . BUT . . . Probably 50% or more of all 5D2 sold are wasted on photographers who only use them to shoot brickwalls or newspaper cuttings at 45degrees at ISO 25,600. p.s. I don't own any Canon...

Thanks Uncle Nordin! If proven 5DM2 is more suitable, i wont do any upgrading. But if 1DM3 can out perform 5DM2, then it will be an upgrade.

I have used both the 40d and 50d. As far as noise levels go, with a higher
megapixel camera it really demands sharp lenses which will produce pictures
that make u go wow up to iso1600! With the 40d u can get away with average
lenses, but not the 50d, especially if u're a pixel peeper and do large
prints. Most canon primes and L zooms produce really nice pictures. I even
used a takumar with ...

Better look for new 50D since price was drop around RM 3600 body only or user 40D.
So far, coz limited stock for new 40D, some seller keep high price around RM 3000.

you're forgetting the full HD 30fps video and higher MP compared to D700.
Yes I think it's worth the money.
WOuldn't mind paying a bit more for better AF though.

sticky button? sometimes fire sometimes don't? sometimes have to press a
bit hard? just send it for service, if they can clean the contact they
will, otherwise they change to new button and if i'm not mistaken it's less
than rm200. Friend of mine had this problem with his 30d. Few days fix, or
u can opt for the new express 1 day service but u have to pay a little
extra like 50rm or 60rm.
