It is absolutely impossible to use xvba until you have got the sdk which most likely only 1 linux dev has got. you could use vaapi over opengl only...

Wasn't the geometry shading what made Direct3D version 10 so awesome and wasn´t it what made people so angry about the lack of it in OpenGL 3.0?

XBMC shure is a great piece of software, but what's still lacking imho is support for watching TV with it. You can use it as a myth-frontend, but that sucks. Switching channels takes forever (way longer that with kaffeine e.g.) and there is no way to schedule recordings etc. Luckily there's a development-branch which enables it to be used as a vdr-frontend, which sucks way less, but still isn't...

High battery consumption and operating temperatures at $500 USD. I for one feel it is more of a laptop/notebook than netbook. And it includes the MS tax. Because Asus and MS are so good together in bed. I'll wait for a cheap FOSS ARM netbook.
