That's clear H55 or H57 is needed for clarkdale - otherwise you don't have got the vga/hdmi connectors. Why should somebody spend money on integrated gfx thats useless with a P55?

1) wasted money 2) G45 as you can try it without gfx card first - when the cpu is too slow then you can still add a gfx card. also you have got a backup in case the card dies 3) i only own G33,Q35 and Q45 boards, so of course 4) i usally prefer gigabyte, but you have to manually adjust the ddr2 ram speed in the overclocking menu when you raise the fsb, by default it overclocks it (which is definitely not needed) Btw. to prove that a E8xxx...

Hello, all
I need netbook with HDMI and possibility to decode FullHD without problems. I have many videos h.264 1080p and MPEG-2 1080i and want to watch them on my 42"LCD.
I choose between 'HP mini 311' (with Atom N270 and nVidia ION), 'Acer Timeline 1810T' (Intel Core2 Solo SU3500 and Intel 4500MHD), MSI Wind U210X (with AMD Yukon L335 1,6 and ATI Radeon X1250)

Hello Folks
Are there any Xorg drivers for media playback with this new card on the horizon?
http://www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/N...dcom-BCM700 15/
Per the article below, the mini-pi- e card is quite popular on ebay to boost the flagging HD-libido for atom powered netbooks. But thats with Windows platform.
And then what about this one with Xorg? http://www.broadcom.com/...

ION2 is rumored to be based on the GT2xx stuff, i.e. feature set C, i.e. hardware MPEG4 decoding. It's also rumored to be out Very Soon. Alas, the repeating key word here is "rumor."
FWIW, original ION is pretty good for MythTV frontend. I got one a few months ago and am still using as a front and back, though it's a bit overworked in that role. But the 9400M is able to handle anything ...

AFAIK all dvi to hdmi adapters are the same and will provide both video and audio.
The adapter that came with my gigabyte 3870 is generic.
The more important question to ask is does your your card support either/both if using an adapter.
Mine does but only if connected to dvi 1, but there are some 4670 models which do not support using an adapter such as the Powercolor PCS AX4670 1GBK3-P or ...

The GT220 with active cooling is not that loud when watching a movie but of course a huge difference to a passively cooled card. MSI G210 (there is no GT210) would be passively cooled and maybe a better choice.

Simple short story. I'm building a HTPC. My TV supports HDMI-CEC. Does my integrated AMD card (HD4200) support it? Does any AMD card support it? Googled for about an hour to come up empty. Some AMD guys are known to read this forum, so please shed some light on this?
