Problem with Flash upgrade - 3640

Every IOS has its requirements about the needed size of flash and ram. One version 12.3 have many builds and different options. If you have the option to encrypt (k9) in your IOS then you will need more ram than if have only IP services IOS. You can check the requirements for your version using cisco's download software page. You can check the IOS features and the requirements for your cisco gear using the following link too:...

Problem with Flash upgrade - 3640
Published (2009-12-19 05:16:00)
After much time trying different IOS's and trying to get some stability to the router, I have been able to load and run c3640-i-mz.124-25a. It is about a 12M file and I think I am going to stop here. I did take all of the flash and dram simms out and cleaned the contacts with a very fine contact cleaing cloth I had left over from working at one of the Bell operating Co's. For the record, the 3640 has 32M flash and 128M dram, so it is...

Flooding vs Broadcast

To clarify: broadcasts can occur at the data link layer or the network layer. A broadcast at the data link layer (MAC address ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff) would be "flooded" or broadcast to every switch port regardless of what subnets the hosts were on at layer 3.

Many thanks alexbg and Garen! At least I have an idea about these commands. I think the best thing is to discuss with our network designers which ones should be implemented and set the agreed commands to be the standard in tne network. Kind regards, olaninidaniela

hey all, so you guys have immensely helped me in the past, so i thought i'd propose this situation to you all, maybe it will boggle your mind as much as mine i'm setting up redirection via WCCP on IOS (using GNS3 for now). everything works PERFECTLY when using IOS 12.0(4) and the configuration on my linux box. however, when i change to ANY IOS version above 12.0(4), WCCP does not work correctly: the packets are forwarded to the cache...

Cisco ASA 5510 Question
Published (2009-12-17 22:34:00)
Ok heres the deal. I have an application that needs to be accessible from inside and outside my network. The app works off of port 80 and 5721. Name is Kaseya. I need a way to configure my ASA to allow inside computers to access the outside interface ports as if they were coming from the outside. For example. outside: abc.com=1.1.1.1 inside: 192.x.x.x i need the inside to be able to access 1.1.1.1 as well as anyone outside to be able to access...

Just create a zone (e.g. DMZ) and put the server into it. You can do it similar to the following example: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/secu...guide/DMZ.h tml

Your request is very complex. QoS generally is very large term. Assuming that nothing is specified - you can start using the following: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/inte...html#wp1020 563 traffic shaping(if you need this otherwise you can look for traffic policing): http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/...ts.html#wp4 553 You can try to use SDM to setup QoS with predefined presets also...

flood/broadcast mean the same thing. A switch will flood to all ports in a VLAN if the destination is unknown. It does not matter if theres a MAC to port relationshio already, a port can have more than one MAC.

sh ip nat trans will only show you the current IP NAT translation tables. If they connected yesterday, and you run that command now, it won't show you. I'd try looking at the logs on the mail server itself - that'll show you if the relevant ip address connects. Also - consider changing the title of your thread - you might get some more help that way...
